One Fine Day

Monthly catch up with Holly yesterday afternoon. We originally went to Baby E on Dale Street but we didn't like the food so just ended up having a hot drink there.

It was dead when we got there but got busy after we left. It was freezing in there as well as they don't have a door just have a velvet curtain which wasn't keep the heat in and when people were walking in they were just bringing the cold in. There wasn't any atmosphere in there. On their Instagram it says they have daily specials but the counter was empty with nothing there just a couple of cakes.

We decided to go to One Fine Day down the road on Old Hall Street as the food menu was better.

Was debating the House Made Crumpets - Poached eggs, hot smoked salmon, asparagus, duck hollandaise. But I don't like crumpets so was going to get it swapped for normal toast. Ended up getting the Roast Chicken Salad...

Avocado, sweet potato, charred corn, pre-served lemon dressing.

We both got the same which was boring but it was actually really nice. We both liked it apart from the lettuce with the curly ends which I'm not a fan of. Glad I ended up getting it.

It was nice in there thinking of going back. It was so much nicer than Baby E. They even do matcha lattes and a matcha smoothie which I would have got if I didn't get a drink from Baby E.

It might have been called one fine day - shame the same couldn't be said about the weather. So over these storms. Can't remember a day when it wasn't windy and pouring down... Is it summer yet?? I'm so glad I'm not marathon training this year as I wouldn't be getting any runs in and be having a breakdown. We got lucky last year when we trained with the weather.

Limassol

Day 8 - Limassol - Cyprus

Last day in Limassol! We were lucky that our flight wasn't until late so we had time to explore. Some of the other flights were early in the afternoon so they had to go after breakfast. We got to have breakfast and lunch.

We had to leave the cabin at 9am. Our check in bags had been taken away and we could leave our hand luggage in the Broadway lounge to pick up later on when we were ready to leave.

We just had a wander around to see what there was to see. There's a castle and the old town.

It was 4,50€ to go in but there was nothing to see so we didn't bother.

The weather was so nice. So annoying how the weather wasn't like this for the whole week! We got the bus back to the ship as we couldn't be bothered walking as it was a bit of a trek and had lunch from the buffet.

The chicken was actually quite nice and wasn't dry.

We got to use a courtesy cabin for 30 minutes so I got a shower and got changed. We left at 3:30pm to get the coach transfer to the airport.

Actually got to see the sun setting on the horizon and it was amazing. Just seen the sun eventually disappearing on the horizon.

Limassol airport is just as bad as Cardiff airport it was tiny nothing there to buy or eat. But luckily we weren't there long. We got a shuttle bus that took us to the plane and as we were walking up the stairs the air steward was like stop... Yous have been sent too early yous can't come on the plane. All the people that needed assistance we already sat on the plane but we were left stood outside of the plane on the stairs for 20 minutes. When we eventually got let on we got told that one of the seats was broken and they were fixing it but had no communication to say don't come onto the plane so instead just left us to stand in the cold.

And that was my first experience of a cruise! Not the best experience you could have and can't say I'm going on another one any time soon but it did give me a tick off the bucket list and one for the capital cities list. If the weather was nice it would have made such a difference but the fact it rained for the first 3 days just ruined it and the food not being good. Definitely wouldn't recommend the Marella Dream but if you want a cheap cruise and not bothered about the food you eat then go for it. If you like your food this definitely isn't the cruise for you!
