Dim Sum Sunday's

Me, Tracy and Laura took nanny Wing out for dim sum, yan ta at Tai Pan for her birthday. We completely forgot to take a photo in the restaurant so ended up having to get one when we were wandering round Costco! Looking like proper tourists...

Hair's looking a bit faded as I had to wash it after going for a run this morning.

Tracy and Laura got there first and started without us!

Seafood ho fan

3 meat rice

Deep fried prawn parcels

Custard buns

Chicken feet my favourite! At this all myself as Tracy and Laura have gone off them and won't eat them no more even though they loved them when they were younger too!

Half Marathon Training

Did 12.3km this morning! Don't know how I managed it as it was a struggle to walk down the stairs this morning. My legs were so tight and sore they just didn't want to work for me! But I felt so good after it and I'm so happy I did do it! 4 weeks today till the big race!! Finally just entered as well so there's no going back... Scary stuff!

Off for the week filming in the night! Going to be so weird leaving the house when I should be finishing work and getting home when I'd be getting up for work. Going to mess my sleeping pattern up so bad! Should be worth it though I'm excited!

Run to town

Ran to town this morning with Jo and Jonny!
We met up at the gym turned out Jo and Jonny had plan to run to town before but didn't tell me! So I decided we'd run to my work so I could show Callum my hair. I've had my hair dyed green as I'm filming next week! Actual mermaid hair. I'll be doing a separate post on it as it was a bit of a nightmare!

We ran over 13km to town as Jonny made us go all over the place instead of going on a normal route which took us 1hr 10min. The run wasn't actually too bad and I enjoyed it! We stopped outside my work and got Jo to braid my hair.

Looks good braided! We walked through town and it was freezing!

We decided to take a straight route back but got to the 5 ways and was a struggle to carry on running, I wanted to walk cos Chikdwall Valley Road is so long! The run back was 7km and tool us around 40 minutes to the 5 ways. As we crossed we seen Rich the life saver and stopped to have food at Goodness Grill and Juice Bar.

Jo got fried rice with grilled chicken and mixed veg

Rich got fried rice with grilled chicken and pak choi

Jonny got sweet potato mash, grilled chicken and mixed grilled veg

I got salmon with pasta, pak choi and teriyaki sauce
It was nice after that long run! Apart from mine had too much sauce

The run back was about 7km. Overall we 21k which is just under the half marathon. I hadn't been running for 2 weeks only got back into it last Sunday where we did 9km then did 2 runs this week on Tuesday and Thursday night both 4.5km. Probably do a short one tomorrow as my calves are so tight right now but as I'm working night all next week I won't be able to train!

Apart from doing my foot in and being out for 2 weeks I think training has been going well. After today I think I am kinda ready for it but it's 4 weeks tomorrow so I feel like I need to be ready for it!

Et Alia

Went to the cinema with Jo and Rich to see Black Panther in the Odeon in Liverpool One. It was an absolute rip off though we went to the 4pm showing but it was sold out so had to get premium which was £44 for 3 tickets!! The seats are suppose to be better but they were right near the front though. I'd rather sit right at the back!

Black Panther is so good! Definitely need to go see it!! I don't usually follow the hype and expect too much but I never seen any of the trailers so wasn't too sure what to expect. It does start off quite slow but gets so good. I loved all of it though.

Even if you don't like Marvel or super hero films which I don't it's worth a watch. You'll probably like it. (I've never seen captain America or like thor)

Make sure you stay right to the end of the credits even though they're so long. The story doesn't finish!

Afterwards we went to food on Aigburth Road an Italian called Et Alia.

Antipasto Misto - Chefs selection, duck spring roll, calamari, olives, parma ham, mozzarella and chicken liver pate.

Jo got carbonara. It was really dry so sent it back and they put more sauce but still think it looked really dry.

I got the special lobster ravioli in prawn aurora sauce.
This is apparently a main. Actual 5 ravioli!! Good job I wasn't hungry after eating pretty much the whole large popcorn I got at the cinema.

Rich got the penne pollo primavera - penne pasta with char grilled chicken, broccoli, baby carrots, sugar snap peas, mozzarella, cream and toasted pine nuts.

I was going to get what Rich got - his was really nice! The other option was the salmon tagliatelle but I had salmon and pasta at lunch. I love ravioli and lobster so went for that as soon as I seen it. It was nice but way too small! The restaurant was so busy it was full but I'm unsure on whether I'd go again though.

Liver Bird

For All Liverpool's Liver Birds

Julie Wing found her Wing's!

Coat - H&M
Scarf - New Look
Jeans - Levi's
Nike Mayfly Trainers - JD Sports

Dad's a rubbish photographer couldn't even get the full wings in!

These wings appeared on a wall in the Baltic Triangle on Jamaica Street last August and I've been wanting a photo there since I seen them on Instagram! It's by a street artist called Paul Curtis who's from Liverpool. He's called it a gift to the city for all Liverpool's Live Birds. Which I think is an amazing mural. He's called it interactive art as it's something people can connect with.

It's a bit out of town but there's loads of bars and restaurants, the Baltic Market, Peaky Blinders bar and ghetto golf are all down there. So it's worth popping down for that Instagram photo!

Liverpool Chinese New Year Celebrations 2018

Liverpool Chinese New Year celebrations in town today! The traditional dragon and lion dancing through China town.

As it's the 10 year anniversary since Liverpool won European Capital of Culture it's a big celebration especially with Liverpool's connections with China and the Terracotta Warriors coming to visit. This will be the first time they've been seen in the UK. Hopefully going to see them soon!

I love how much Liverpool embraces the Chinese culture with it being the oldest Chinese community in Europe but I was a little disappointed. I've not been to China town for new year in about about 3/4 years as the weather has been awful the past couple of years. The weather was actually alright today just really cold as I managed to go for a run this morning ! The dragon was tiny and so were the lions which I didn't manage to get a photo of. There was a couple of lions, a blue one, red one and 2 little ones but they didn't look that good. Town was so busy though cos the weather was good it was a big turn out. They had a little stage in St George's square doing performances which they never used to have. You can see the dragon dancing on my Instagram story here @Juki_W

There's a fireworks display later on tonight at 6 in China town!

Happy Chinese New Year!

All photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone.

Happy Year of the Dog!

Hoping to go into town tomorrow for the parade as it's meant to be even big and better than usual as it's the 10 year anniversary since Liverpool won European Capital of Culture
