Fat Sunday

I've had such a fat day! Pasta, pizza, waffle and ice cream! The gym this morning has been cancelled out now... training abs with Jo this morning was a write out off really..

I've done my other foot in now so I haven't been able to run since Wednesday night. Starting to think I'm not cut out for long distant running! So injury prone right now, too many set backs. 8 weeks today and I just want to run to get the miles in! Missed out on 2 runs now. Jo and Jonny ran to town and back yesterday, Rich did a 5k this morning. So gutted it's annoying! Hopefully should be fine to do a run on Tuesday night.

Rich went to Natterjack running today in town where you run on a treadmill and see how you run so you can get specialist trainers. As my foot is too sore to run I didn't try it (it's £15 to do it or free if you buy a pair of trainers) so spoke to the guy about my injury and he said he didn't know what it would be as I run in Nike Pegasus trainers which are neutral trainer so should be fine. He told me I'm better off going to see a foot specialist. If so that wouldn't have been worth the £15 but then again I don't know if he wasn't willing to help me cos I didn't do the test...

Went to Crust on Bold Street for lunch with Jo, Rich and Jonny.

Jo got spaghetti carbonara

I got the salmon farfelle

Rich got the Zingara - tomato, mozzarella, mushrooms, ham and added pinepple

Jonny got the lionnesse - tomato, mozzarella, red onion and tuna

I've been to Crust so many times now it always seems to be the place to be if I end up on Bold Street but then Jonny has been going on about going there for weeks so we gave in. My pasta was really nice a bit too cheesy for my liking. The pasta was cooked al dente which I like. I had half then Rich had the other and I had a couple of slices of his pizza. Was so full.

After that we went to Natterjack to get Rich's trainers. Jonny had to leave us to go to work so we just went shopping as we had to wait for Jacob as he was in town with his mate's. We ended up going to Kaspa's as Rich wanted something sweet.

Jo and Rich both got a white hot chocolate

Rich got the Nutella crepe

Me and Jo shared a white choc indulgence waffle - banana and strawberry slices, drizzled with white chocolate syrup, white chocolate pieces and vanilla ice cream.

Waffles and whipped ice cream are actually my kryptonite! There was no way I could eat a full waffle so I'm so glad Jo shared with me. I was so stuffed after it could barely walk actual food baby! Wish I could've ran it off but luckily we wandered round town for a bit till Jacob was ready to go! We also went to the Bon Bon Chinese bakery on the way to Crust and got egg custard tarts..

Such a fat day didn't even end up having any dinner when I got home! Tomorrow is rest day as well so won't be burning any of that off but hopefully should be back to it this week.. Got the week off work probably gonna be sat watching TV all day being lazy till the gym in the evening.

I've spent so much money lately bought 3 new pairs of trainers in the space of 2 months..

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 Shield

Undecided whether to keep this as they are the same as the ones I've already got but the newer version in a different colour. There were only £31 as they were on sale on the Nike website with an extra 25% off sale items. But if training for the half marathon isn't a good enough excuse to buy new trainers.. I don't know what is!

Nike Mayfly

I've been after these for ages and got them in Jd sports for only £27 reduced from £90. They were £30 but as they were the last pair in my size and the display pair - they had a mark they gave me an extra 10% off. I did nearly get them the day before for £40 so glad I went back the day after!

I did actually spend £92 in the Nike sale last weekend buying clothes too but I took them all back as I didn't like them so I don't feel as bad now.. but I do actually wear gym 6 days a week so can never have too much gym clothes!

Malta Travels

Malta travels from November... Day 4

Yep this is a post from way back in November when I went to Malta for 5 days! Just haven't had the chance to post the last 2 days so here's day 4...!

Mdina

Mdina Gate

Palazzo Vilhena

Cathedral

Mdina was the island's capital int he antiquity to the medieval period. It has a population of around 300 people. It's like a bit of maze you just walk around with walls around you and then find random buildings.

For lunch we left the ancient walls and just walked to a restaurant down the road. Me, mum and dad shared a pizza pie. It had mushrooms, walnuts, cheese and like a sweet sauce but I can't remember what but it was nice. Very filling.

Gavin got a rack of bbq ribs to himself.

St Paul's Bay

The water at St Paul's Bay was amazing. When you see photos online of blue/green water it's actually real! I never knew whether it was photo shopped but it is actually this amazing colour - no filter or editing at all! All taken with my phone!! The water must have been warmish as people were swimming in it.

St Julian's Bay

Watching the sun set on St Julian's Bay.
We parked the car and walked along the bay as the sun was setting. It was beautiful I wish I had my gym stuff and did a run!

Bay Street Shopping

My dad has a weird thing where he finds all the places you can go shopping even though he hates shopping. He found Bay Street shopping but it was a bit of a mission to find as it's actually hidden. It's a weird half open shopping centre with a handful of shops opposite where all the night clubs are and the Hard Rock Cafe.

I've still got 1 more post from Malta from the last day which should be up this week!

All photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone - no filter or editing!
