Marathon 2019

So Marathon training is officially back on! Me and Sarah have signed up to the Liverpool Rock N Roll Marathon on the 26th May 2019. We signed up last month after this years marathon as it was only £37. If all else fails we can drop down to the half marathon or even the 5 km but we have a year to train now so hopefully we should be fine! We've signed up to the London Marathon ballot as well so we'll find out in October if we're running the London Marathon in April then a month later for the Rock N Roll one!

I did my first run with Jo and Jonny 2 Saturday's ago. We did 4.5 km up Woolton Hill. I could tell I hadn't run for a while and was starting again but it felt good!

Did my 2nd run last Wednesday - we did 6 km!
Jonny's was wearing an ab corset during the run which was so sweaty and disgusting. It does look like he's holding a mat.

Did 4.5 km up Woolton Hill again today with Sarah her first run in a while. It felt good but it was so hot. I definitely prefer running in the sun than in the rain any day! Need to properly get back into it so will definitely be aiming to do 3 runs a week to get myself back into it. There will be plenty of photos for this next journey and I will do it this time hopefully be able to stay injury free! I need to go get some decent trainers for sure so will be sorting that out soon!

We trained legs after our run tonight so I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow but we're training back so hopefully I should be fine! Next run will be on Saturday night!

Crust Woolton

Finally went to Crust with Holly! We've been saying forever that we needed to go to Crust and it's finally opened up in Woolton Village. This is actually my 5th time I've been to Crust but it's definitely not the last time especially with it opening up a 10/15 minute walk from my house. I'm sure it could be my new regular and I would have tried everything that's on the menu!

We got there after 6pm when they opened at 5pm. Said it would be a 20 minute wait but I think we only waited about 10 minutes. It wasn't as busy as we thought it was going to be but that might be cos of England playing Tunisia for their first group game.

The atmosphere was really nice. We weren't sure what to expect as we've never been to an opening night of a restaurant. It could go any way - being really good as they want to try to perfect things or really bad for the same reason. We got seated by the bar to have drinks while we waited and were given a free glass of prosecco.

Kamut Pasta - Organic Kamut Pasta, prawns, yellow cherry tomatoes & orange zest

Black Dough, Quattro fromaggi - Fior di latte mozzarella, Gorgonzola, smoked provola, Parmesan. With extra spinach and olives.

I got pasta but wasn't expecting it to be spaghetti pasta.. Thought it was going to be like a fussili kind of pasta which I wanted. It was alright wasn't really a fan of the orange zest. I tried Holly's pizza not a fan of the black dough - it tastes like burnt pizza, definitely prefer to the normal dough.

Service was good but there was practically more staff than they had customers in there. With it being the opening night they did want to make sure everything was going to be perfect and that things were going to run smoothly. They did forget to put Holly's extra spinach and olives on her pizza but they just took it straight back in and it come straight back out. I'll definitely be back again soon, I've said it before it's probably the best pizza in Liverpool and it's reasonably priced!

BBQ

Went to Jo and Rich's for a BBQ yesterday afternoon. It was the perfect weather for a BBQ it was so hot and sunny. There was so much food that I actually forgot to take photos of cos I was that hungry from going the gym before it..

All the chicken!

Salmon and cous cous

Smoked salmon with salad.

Jonny made smoothies - pineapple, apple, pear, kale & spinach. Which is actually really nice and is my recipe!

Jo is such a feeder there was so much food. I was stuffed! There was quite a few of us but for some reason we didn't take a group photo! Think we were just having too good of a time. I did take a lot of videos so if you follow me on Instagram you will have seen them on my story.

It got quite competitive since it was the gym crew with everyone showing off at archery, gymnastics and doing the floss..

Jonny's dog sitting his boss' little shit zhu Miro. He's the cuttest little puppy even though he doesn't look like one. He definitely looks more like sloth but he was so well behaved he can join the BBQ anytime!

Got to love a BBQ in the summer - again this weekend Jo and Rich?
