Finally went to Crust with Holly! We've been saying forever that we needed to go to Crust and it's finally opened up in Woolton Village. This is actually my 5th time I've been to Crust but it's definitely not the last time especially with it opening up a 10/15 minute walk from my house. I'm sure it could be my new regular and I would have tried everything that's on the menu!
We got there after 6pm when they opened at 5pm. Said it would be a 20 minute wait but I think we only waited about 10 minutes. It wasn't as busy as we thought it was going to be but that might be cos of England playing Tunisia for their first group game.
The atmosphere was really nice. We weren't sure what to expect as we've never been to an opening night of a restaurant. It could go any way - being really good as they want to try to perfect things or really bad for the same reason. We got seated by the bar to have drinks while we waited and were given a free glass of prosecco.
Kamut Pasta - Organic Kamut Pasta, prawns, yellow cherry tomatoes & orange zest
Black Dough, Quattro fromaggi - Fior di latte mozzarella, Gorgonzola, smoked provola, Parmesan. With extra spinach and olives.
I got pasta but wasn't expecting it to be spaghetti pasta.. Thought it was going to be like a fussili kind of pasta which I wanted. It was alright wasn't really a fan of the orange zest. I tried Holly's pizza not a fan of the black dough - it tastes like burnt pizza, definitely prefer to the normal dough.
Service was good but there was practically more staff than they had customers in there. With it being the opening night they did want to make sure everything was going to be perfect and that things were going to run smoothly. They did forget to put Holly's extra spinach and olives on her pizza but they just took it straight back in and it come straight back out. I'll definitely be back again soon, I've said it before it's probably the best pizza in Liverpool and it's reasonably priced!
