Hamilton

Finally got to see Hamilton!
Holly got us tickets for my birthday on her birthday last year in December. It's been a long 8 months since we got these tickets. We're lucky my birthday is so late as it was due to come back in May but then got pushed back and only started up again on the 19th August.

We had to arrive by 7pm as the show started at 7:30pm. It said you had to show a negative lateral flow test or be double jabbed over 14 days ago. I only got my second jab last Monday so did a lateral flow but they didn't even ask just got a quick bag check, tickets scanned and that was it we were in. You could pre order your drinks online then pick it up at the bar but we just went straight to our seats. We were sat on the end of the row, second from the back towards the middle of the right side of the stalls. They were good seats minus the frizzy head woman that was sat in front of me blocking my view. The people sat behind us were like super fans proper whooping and going for it.

It was so good! It was weird after watching the Broadway show on Disney+ as I was just thinking of that cast but this cast were just as good. Definitely recommend going to see it if you can get tickets! I hate musicals but this just isn't your average or typical musical so don't be put off by it. You just have to watch it and get it, I know everyone who's watched has said it's amazing, don't know anyone who doesn't like it!

Really need to watch the Broadway one again but just don't have the time to watch at the moment and don't even have Disney+ no more but might just get a month free trial just to be able to watch it again. I mean being able to see that Broadway cast for real would be even better but I doubt they will do it again!

Thanks Holly for the tickets it was so worth it and the best! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is next..

Johnson's Wedding Part 2

Tracy and Chris' Wedding Part 2 at Tai Pan will all the family.
The Chinese wedding with a Chinese banquet.

Suckling Pork

Lobster

Bird's Nest - Nest is made from potato then filled with veg and seafood - scallops, prawn, squid

Chinese Roast Chicken - Not sure why there's prawn crackers on top cos there isn't usually

Special Fried Rice

Fried ho fun with pork

Port in a sweet and sticky sauce

Tofu

Steamed Sea Bass

Choi Sum

Roast Duck

It was a proper feast - there was steamed rice and we also had prawn crackers with chicken and sweet corn soup as a starter. The food was good and everyone enjoyed it. It's been a while.. but Chinese banquets always go down well especially the lobster! The only thing everything is so heavily seasoned you get so thirsty after it all.

We got there for 12:30pm and we didn't leave till 6:15pm they were definitely sick of us and ready for us to leave. There was 6 tables and we had to give back the two big tables as they were booked by someone else. But luckily they didn't kick us out like when we were in Gino's.

I'm so over wearing heels so trainers it was

Dress - Zara
Trainers - New Balance 327 (Footlocker)

Tracy's Dress - H&M

Love that Amelie is in the background asleep..

We still didn't take enough photos and there's no family ones! Tracy it just going to have to milk the wedding even longer and do more of a family thing to make sure there's enough photos to prove it happened!

The young ones went out to the docks again but I had to pass this time as I'm up at 5am for work.
18 days left and I'm in London next weekend for my birthday to see Hamilton at the West End!

Bloom

Went to Bloom on Allerton Road for lunch today with Jo and Lesley as a post gym catch up. Me and Jo only see each other every other weekend now because of her job when I'm used to seeing her everyday but with my job I don't even get to go the gym any more only on the weekends.

Jo and Lesley have been friends for years but have just rekindled their friendship thanks to the gym and now I've joined in on the friendship and we've been saying for months we should have a proper get together.

Bloom is really nice with the flowers in the middle of the place. Wouldn't say the food was the best though but it is a nice atmosphere, surrounding. Our food took ages to come out, service wasn't slow as they had a lot of staff in. Must have just took ages to cook our food as everyone else was having like wrap/sandwiches.

Jo got Berry Mojito Mocktail - Berry / Mint / Lemonade
I got Pornstar Non-tini Mocktail - Passionfruit / Pineapple / Vanilla / Lemonade
Lesley got Pink Bramble - Pink Gin / Chambord / Berries / Lemon

I'm not convinced Lesley is Chinese as she one of the few who can actually drink alcohol cos me and Jo really can't! My drink looked good but was so sweet!

Jo got Chicken and Bacon Pasta - Chicken breast and bacon tossed in a garlic cream sauce
Basically a carbonara - Jo's favourite!

Lesley got Seafood Tagliatelle - Tagliatelle in a white wine & herb sauce with king prawns, calamari, smoked salmon & Julienne vegetables

I got Paella - Tossed with peppers & onions in a rich tomato & saffron sauce with extra chicken and chorizo

The paella was alright wasn't great or anything special. The rice should have been softer and the sauce was quite bland. Not sure what I was expecting but it definitely wasn't going to be anything like you get in Spain!

I don't feel like I miss eating out as in the food but I do miss being out and spending time with people. It's weird as there really isn't anything to do unless you do go out to eat or drink. I think I'm just sick of food that isn't home cooked as with my current job I'm either eating catering food/meal deal sort of food and then my dinner with be the left over food I've taken to work and microwaved so it isn't fresh as I get home too late to eat. I'm going to be so glad when the job is over so I can finally live a normal life and not be so unsociable! That will be another post when it's over the end of next month...
