Went to Mr Lau's in Warrington with Holly for lunch today. An unusual place for us to go to but Holly went a few years ago and the food looked alright on their Instagram so decided to give it a try. It was a half an hour drive away from Liverpool and isn't far from Warrington city centre. It was a lot smaller than I thought it was and is upstairs.
We had a table booked for 1:45pm and there was one big table with a family and a lady sat on her own. It was dead in there. We were there for a while and it didn't get busier only another family group, a couple and a man on his own but did see them prepare quite a few take outs.
On Sunday's they do an offer Dim Sum Yam Cha Sundays - Any 5 dim sum or cheung fan £20 all day Sunday. Usually it's Any any 4 dim sum for £20 at the dim sum bar.

Char Siu Cheung Fan - £6

This was our first lot of 5 just to see how we were feeling and Holly got a bowl of chicken and sweetcorn soup which we shared. We then got another 5.
King Prawn Cheung Fan - £8
This is ridiculously extortionate price £8 when you got about 4 prawns that weren't even that big! But the cheung fan was made really well and thick. Was better than the char siu we got in our first lot.

The chicken feet weren't nice and don't know why there were presented like that.
I enjoyed the food it was good and better than I expected. The kitchen is open and you can see the chefs which there was a few of them and they were Chinese men so that's a good sign at least it is made by Chinese people. The waiters weren't Chinese though. The offer wasn't too bad considering how expensive everything is if you don't get it with the deal. I think in a proper Chinese restaurant dim sum is usually priced from £3 for smaller dishes and £4 for the bigger ones. Not been to one in a while so not sure if that is still the case.
It definitely is more of an English Chinese as it has a big bar and from their Instagram gets busy on a Friday and Saturday night. The food is good and something like this would do well in Liverpool.
