London Weekend

This weekend I spent my birthday in London visiting Kelly. I went down on Friday evening on the train & arrived at 8:07pm. Kelly met me at Euston & took me back to her flat in Shoreditch not far from Spitalfields Market. What are the chances that the closest tube station to her is Liverpool Street? I put my stuff down then went to meet her boyfriend Josh & his best mate Dan & girlfriend Emma who are also visiting. We went to a pub then went to a bar called big chill.

Kelly was trying to get me drunk since it was my birthday & got me a double of the fake Malibu which is already a lot stronger & I don't like the taste of. Me & alcohol just don't go, I'm such a light weight & never drunk so was crashing well before it was near my birthday. We moved onto another pub/bar called Dirty Dicks. I just about managed to stay awake to see my birthday before I was ready to go to bed.

Buckingham Palace

My birthday! Last night when Kelly was drunk she booked Buckingham Palace as she'd forgot to do it & released whilst hungover the morning after that you need to print your tickets. So we left her flat at 10 to go the printing shop but it was closed. We were running quite late as it was so decided we'll just have to risk it & hopefully they'll let us in otherwise I'll have to bring on the water works, it's my birthday & travelled all the way from Liverpool. We asked every newsagent we went past which were all really helpful & nice to guide us somewhere that did have a printer. We were booked for 10:45 & arrived a little bit earlier. Turns out you don't need to print your ticket out & you get a nice one off them!

You're not allowed to take any photos in side which I'm a bit disappointed about as I don't have anything to show since the ticket wasn't cheap but I guess they want people to go see it & it's better to see things with your own eyes rather than through a screen. Security is super tight, just like an airport with the detectors & bag going through the conveyor belt. You get an audio guide to help you around.

I loved it, I've seen every documentary there has been on the Queen & the royal family so I knew what to expect but it looks so much better in real life. I was still amazed even though I knew what to expect. The exhibition on they have on is the Queen's fashion. Showing clothes she's wore in the last 90 years. The state rooms you go to are rooms that a still used today like the thrown room, music room, staircase, grand hall etc. 

There's a cafe at the end of the tour & we had a scone with clotted cream & strawberries since we didn't have breakfast. 

At the end of the tour you get to walk through the garden. Didn't get to see much but it was nice.

We then walked to the front of the palace.

The next thing on my list of things I wanted to do in London was to go to Liberty London. So we walked through Bond Street just unfortunately window shopping. Liberty is off one of the streets on Oxford Street.

These are my dream boots & look even more amazing in real life! I wish I could afford a pair.

We were then on a hunt for Matcha soft serve ice cream. I seen a post on facebook for a place called Tombo but that was too far away so was trying to google all places that did Matcha ice cream & ended up finding Tsujuri on Rupert Street round the corner from China Town.

£3.95! Very expensive ice cream even though it does taste so good, considering they serve this in McDonalds in China for about 70p. David met up with us & we just walked around being touristy!

We went into the National Art Gallery but wasn't really looking we were too busy carrying on our conversation. David took us down some side street that was cute with the colourful buildings. Don't know what it was called though.

Also on the to do list was Camden. I've been to London quite a few times but I've never been to Camden. So we got the tube there.

Camden was busy just full of people everywhere. We s sat down & had some food from the food stalls. I made the worst decision getting a fajita.. More was on my plate & probably on the floor than what I ate. Was just eating the tortilla at one point. We went for a drink at the pub which turns out to be Amy Winehouse's local.

We walked down Regents Canal & watched the sunset at Primrose Hill.

I had the best birthday weekend in London thanks to Kelly & David. Also Danielle for paying for my Buckingham Palace ticket with Kelly (Breakfast as well). Also for the drinks, I have Kelly's boyfriend Josh & friend Dan.

I'm doing a separate post for Harry Potter World as I took so many photos. There's enough already on this post it doesn't need more!
