Etsu

Tonight I went to Etsu for my birthday meal. It's a little independent Japanese restaurant which is well hidden. I've been wanting to go to it for years. It's the only place in Liverpool that does sushi apart from YO! Sushi but that's just a franchise & isn't that great.

If you're trying to find it you might struggle as the address says The Strand which is the main road but it's actually on Brunswick Street, Beetham Plaza which is off The Strand.

We just got the mixed sets as you get a bit of everything & it works out cheaper especially if you're sharing.

Yasai (Veg) - 9 pieces veg set
Traditional Sushi Mixed set - 12 piece set, 6 nigiri & 6 maki rolls
Sashimi Mixed Set - 12 piece set, 3 maki, 3 nigiri & 6 sashimi
Ebi Kappa - king prawn & cucumber

Niku Gyoza (5) - Pork & vegetable dumplings, pan fried & steamed

Hannah's Torkikatsu Curry - vegetable curry served with chicken fried in panko breadcrumbs.

The sushi was so nice I loved it but we did have to wait an hour before our food came. We ordered everything to come at once which probably wasn't the best idea but it still shouldn't have taken that long even though the food is all freshly prepared. Starting to think they were going to fish our food straight from the sea it was taking that long!

I would go again & recommend if you want sushi in Liverpool. It's pretty small so I would definitely you book it. It was busy for a Wednesday night & we went around 6:15.

Gonna miss Holly leaving me for Nottingham again! Make sure you find a nice sushi restaurant for when I visit...
