Let's get ready to rhumble!

Kelly's 20th

Leather Jacket - Matalan
Shirt - Urban Outfitters Sale (2 years ago)
Moto wet look coated skinny jeans - Topshop (Last year)
Belt - Forever 21 (Last Year)
Black Heels - Miss Selfridge Sale (Last Year)
Bag - Marc B (Topshop Sale, Last Year)

My outfit was put together so last minute.. I was going to wear a dress my cousin gave me but I decided I didn't like it & would have looked like I was going to a funeral as it was black & I'd be wearing black tights. So I wore my forever versatile leather look jeans! They really can be worn for any occasion, with anything, one of the best purchases I've ever made!

On Monday it was Kelly's 20th my best friend of 15 years' birthday! I was making her our traditional hand-made cards at the weekend & put "Happy 19th Birthday!" Actually thinking she was turning 19 & completely forgot how old I was myself! I keep thinking I'm only 18 & when I get asked how old I am I actually have to think! People definitely think I'm lying.. I think it's cos I do wish I was still only 18..

4 of Kelly's uni house mates came down to celebrate her birthday with us along with my other best friend of 15 years Danielle & our gay friend from school Carl (I spent New Years Eve with)
We went to Kelly's first then went to town. It was pretty dead as most people have gone home for Easter & was a Monday night. We went into 1 club & it was only us 8 in there! But we spent most of the night in Reflex/Popworld (Popworld was being refurbished so was in Reflex) Those who have had a night out in Liverpool will know Popworld & will have ended up there at the end of the night as it's open til late most nights & plays all the 90's classics.
Reasoning for the title of this post as Danielle requested it after they're amazing performance on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night takeaway last Saturday! Did yous all see it?!
I knew the dj for the night as he used to present at KCC (radio station I present at, I'm on tomorrow night 6-7:30pm you can listen online at www.kcclive.com) So I was playing dj for the night & choosing most of the songs.
I got home at 4 but was ready for bed by 2 as always! I don't do late nights & I stayed over at my cousin's the night before helping her do her uni work so had a late night! But it was a good night! :-)

I finished for Easter on Friday & have 3 weeks off, no assignments due until 20th May yayyyy! But the weather has been crazy in Liverpool! There was so much snow on Thursday night & an actual blizzard on Friday but I still managed to go to my 2 lectures (only cos I had 2 assignments due in & I got a lift to & back from uni). It was alright at the weekend but started snowing again today but luckily didn't stick. Really though it's the end of March?! So much for a white Christmas it's a white Easter now! Crazy I don't think the world is going to end but we might get another ice age!
Hopefully the weather will go back to normal & it'll warm up soon & I can dress summery, with better posts!

It was acceptable in the 80's...

It was acceptable at the time...

All things Vintage!

It turns out my mum had some really cool clothes in the past & that she was actually skinnier than what I am now! Which is hard to believe as I'm always asked how am I so skinny & that I need to eat more etc.

It's funny how fashion always repeats itself. You think something is new but it turns out it was in fashion like 20 years ago! I'm glad my mum is a bit of a hoarder & has saved all these beauties for me! I wouldn't be able to find all these in a vintage or charity shop! So if you have some old clothes now which are "out of fashion" I'd advise you to NOT throw them out as for all you know it'll be in again in like 10/20 years time!

Vintage black blazer with shoulder pads
Vintage Tapestry blazer with shoulder pads

High waisted vintage Lee Shorts. These were too big on the waist so I had them taken in on either side of the waist.

When my mum first showed me these I actually didn't want them & said they could go to the charity shop as they were too big & are quite baggy around the bum area but aren't that bad when they're folded up. I decided I did like them & want them, luckily my mum hadn't given them away & still had them & now they're my favourite pair or shorts I own  (own a lot of shorts, I'll save my shorts collection for another post) as they go with everything & anything! Bare legs or tights!

High waisted vintage shorts. I also had to get these taken in at the waist as they were too big!

I actually at first prefered these to the Lee shorts but I think I like them both equally as much but probably prefer the other!

High waisted vintage denim skirt. I actually haven't worn these out yet as I'm not a fan of how long it is so I've folded it up & quite like it. I want to cut it to this length but I'm too scared to as I change my mind a lot even though I really don't like how long it is! I might just sew it in case I ever do change my mind.

Vintage baggy dunagrees. These are massive around my waist as I have a tiny waist so I've not had a chance to wear them out & look a big strange when I put a belt to sinch it around the waist..

High waisted felt skirts. I've not worn either of these as I'm not a fan of them...

High waisted brown shorts. I think I've only worn these once or twice as I'm not really a fan of brown but I think I'll start wearing them more as I've found a good way to style them!

Vintage blouse with shoulder pads. I've worn this before in a previous post here

Vintage scarves

This a collection of all the vintage things my mum has given to me. As you can see I don't like all of the things & not had a chance to wear them all but I do love vintage things especially things with shoulder pads in! I love how fashion repeats it self so you don't always have to splash out & buy new things!
You should ask your mum/nan to see what they've managed to save from "back in their day" they might have some amazing gems which are fashionable now!

Bakestergram

Instagram - @Juki_W

So if you've been following me on Instagram you will have seen that lately it has turned into bakstergram... All my recent photos are of my baking! I have baked so much so far this year already I really am on track to becoming a baker! Some have turned out great, some not so good regardless they have all been edible & eaten!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

On Tuesday I made THE perfect soft AND chewy Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies! I was so proud of myself as I've been trying to make cookies which are both soft AND chewy. I just couldn't get it perfect until I made these! However as they cooled down they turned hard & crispy which is a cookie thing sadly :(
I've never made these cookies before & found the recipe online as we had left over porridge oats & wanted to make something with them but I didn't want to make flapjacks as I've made them a couple of times.

The recipe is actually for Peanut Butter Oatmeal Sandwich cookies but I didn't do the sandwich bit. It's up to you if you want to I'll leave it in the recipe I followed if you want to try it!

Ingredients
110g butter, softened
130g peanut butter
100g caster sugar
110g light brown soft sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
100g plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
80g porridge oats

For the filling
45g butter, softened
120g icing sugar
130g creamy peanut butter
2 1/2 tablespoons cream

Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 10 mins

1. In a large bowl, using an eclectic whisk, whisk the  butter, then add the peanut butter, caster sugar, brown soft sugar and vanilla. Until they're all creamed together. Then add egg and beat well.
2. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Add these dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon. Add oats and stir.
This is what the dough that it formed once all the ingredients have been mixed together.

3. Drop by teaspoons onto greased baking paper and press each mound down with a fork to form 5mm thick cookies. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 10 minutes, or until cookies are a light brown. (I had them in for about 20 minutes).

4. To Make Filling: Cream 45g butter or margarine with the icing sugar, 130g peanut butter and the cream. Spread filling onto half of the cooled cookies, then top with the other half to form sandwiches.

It's up to you how big you want to make them, but leave space for them as they will expand when in the oven!

Banana & Sultana Muffins with sunflower seeds, almond flakes, walnut & coconut

On Sunday I decided to make banana muffins. As I made them I added every seed & nuts I could find in the cupboard to throw into it hence all the ingredients used. You don't have to use any of the ones I used as the recipe is actually for Banana & Chocolate chip but I don't like chocolate.

Ingredients
200g Self-raising flower
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 Eggs
5 Tablespoons Sunflower Oil
5 tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 Bananas
100g Chocolate Chip (Optional)

I put a handful of sultanas, Sunflower seeds, almond flakes, walnuts & desiccated coconut

1. Whisk eggs, oil, milk & vanilla essence in a bowl
2. Mash bananas on a plate with a fork & mix with the liquids
3. Add flour, baking powder & stir with a silicone spatula
4. Stir in choc chips/whatever you're using

5. Spoon into muffin cases
I spread them out onto 2 trays & left space between them so they could have space to grow. Ideally use a muffin tray & muffin cases. I only have normal trays & cases so just leave space if you don't have muffin trays!

6. Bake for 15-20 minutes. 200°C, Gas 6

My mum just put them all together on the 1 tray when they were done to save space

They were very yummy & healthy with all the added bits I put in! They were a bit dry so maybe another tablespoon of milk would have made them that bit more moist.

Rice Krispies with Marshmallow, toffee, peanuts & bit of peanut butter

A warning before you make these.. I am absolutely addicted to these! I can't stop eating them they are so nice! I could easily have eaten the whole tray to myself but that wouldn't be good for me or fair to the rest of my family... But I did eat probably 65-70% of the tray...

Ingredients
4oz Margarine
4oz Marshmallows
4oz Toffee
8oz Rice Krispies (Enough to be coated evenly)
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter (Optional, as much or as little as you desire)
Handful of peanuts (Also optional)

1. Melt the margarine, marshmallows, toffee & peanut butter in a large pan/wok
2. Once all melted quickly mix in the rice krispies & peanuts until they are all evenly coated. This needs to be done quick as once the liquid mixture sets you won't be able to coat the rice krispies
3. Then place on a tray with baking paper & flatten & leave to set

I'll probably be making more stuff soon so keep an eye out on instagram as I show off my baking skills! If you want the recipes for any of the other things I've baked/cooked feel free to message me! :-)

Vintage Tapestry

Vintage Tapestry Jacket - Mum's
Plain black long sleeve top - Asda George
Necklace - Pull & Bear (Last Year)
Belt - Forever 21 (Last Year)
Moto wet look coated skinny jeans - Topshop (Last year)
Leather Biker Boots - Oasis via Asos sale (3 years ago)

Blue Jeans - Zara Sale £7.99
Vans Paityn Trainers - Schuh Sale £27 (10% student discount, £30)

Hello! Sorry it's been a while since I've last posted! Just haven't really had anything to post about & been quite lazy just going to uni, not doing much!
I've been doing a lot of baking though! I've baked 10 things so far this year! I have tried to make the perfect cookies about 3 times though. I'll do a post about my baking tomorrow with some recipes that I used :-)

This was today's outfit... I wore my mum's tapestry jacket which I absolutely love but don't wear that much as I don't want to ruin it by getting it dirty as it's dry clean only & was a gift to my mum. It's a blazer with shoulder pads! I like shoulder pads as I have pretty small shoulders meaning bags ALWAYS fall off my shoulders which is really annoying but by having shoulder pads makes them broader which I love!
I wore it with just a plain black top under with my layered Pull & Bear necklace & leather look jeans & leather biker boots as the jacket is a statement piece that stands out as it is & didn't really want to pattern clash.

I bought these jeans from the Zara sale yesterday. £7.99 reduced from £29.99 which I thought was really good! They had quite a few pairs left & had different patterned, cord, suede effect ones too. They're comfier jeans as they're not denim. I like the fit & pockets which are pretty big. They're super skinny & luckily have zips on the ankles so you can get your feet in!

I also bought these Vans as I might have a job working in a Chinese Restaurant that my mum is starting to work at too, & I'll be helping out for their opening this Sunday.
I actually don't own a black pair of flats so had to buy these! I don't even know why I don't own any! These are also my first pair of Vans & thick soled shoes! They're suede & are comfy, hopefully they don't give me blisters & don't hurt as I'll have to do a lot of walking in them. I got them from the Schuh sale which you can get from here
I've never worked in a restaurant before & don't think I'll be very good! As I'll probably end up dropping food as I'll have to do it quite quick which I'm quite scared about! I think they might take me on as they're quite desperate for staff & I can do with the money!

I've just had a look at the Rihanna for River Island collection online now & can't say I'm a really a fan! I don't think there's anything really that stands out to me that I really want.. All the skirts/dresses are very Rihanna with the leg split which she's been sporting a lot lately!
You can have a look at the collection yourself here
Let me know what you think, do you like it? Anything you want?

I really need to get back into blogging properly, hopefully I'll be able to have some time to post about my baking with some recipes tomorrow & maybe about all my mum's amazing vintage clothes I've got at the weekend!
