On Tuesday me & Holly graduated from UpRising! We graduated from our leadership programme & delivered a successful social action campaign.
The social action campaign me & Holly have created is to raise awareness on Modern Day Slavery which is something many people don't realise is happening. It's something people think happened in the past in America with black Africans but it's very much still an issue today all over the world.
We're hoping to do a clothes swap to help with our campaign as Stop the Traffik a charity that helps to prevent human trafficking do clothes swap to make people aware of where their clothes come from. Many people in third world countries are promised good wages & living conditions to make these clothes when in reality they are paid hardly anything & live in the worst conditions that no-one should be allowed to live in.
Stop the Traffik help to educate people, so they can do something about it & make a change.
The graduation was at Fact but it was initially going to be at Pushka. We were going to go for a nice meal but head office decided they want this format of having in the Fact that we would present our campaigns to one another then have drinks & canapés. I'd much rather we went for a meal.
Eleanor & Luke spoke about their UpRising journey.

It's been a great 7 months where I've had the chance to be on TV on the BBC, (a dream!) go to London twice, going to Westminster, went to Staffordshire for the weekend all paid for, have a life coach that believes in me more than I believe in myself, meet some great people, & had opportunities, networks that I'd never would have been able to do without UpRising!
Thank you UpRising espeically to Natasha & Carolyn I'm so glad I joined it even though at first I had no idea what I signed up to!

My hair was actually curly & nice but it was the hottest day of the year & I had to get the bus into town. I was a sweaty mess. I was so hot I was actually melting on the bus! I couldn't wait to get home & jump the shower!
