Goodbye Giants!

Giant Spectacular - Liverpool's Dream

Sunday 7th October 2018

Sadly it was time to say goodbye to the giants for the last time! Jean-Luc Courcoult the artistic creator has said this is the last time the giants are going to be seen! The giants have actually been around for 25 years which I didn't realise. Shows how much people love them for them to be able to go on for that long!

Xolo came racing down first with the little girl not far behind him.

The little girl made a surprise appearance on their farewell parade! She wasn't scheduled to be here but there were hints she was going to be with her clothes on the washing line. She appeared after the giant and Xolo's nap. She had bright orange dress so you couldn't miss her.

With her uncle following her behind

We then tried to go as far down the road towards the Albert Dock but there was just too many people that we couldn't actually see the uncle get put on his raft!

But Xolo came past us with the little girl strapped into her deck chair

Just about see the man himself Jean-Luc Courcoult.

The little boy giant left this morning when the giant and Xolo had a siesta to carry on to the end. He little in a sandal sailing off into the Mersey.

It was so sad seeing them go knowing they're not going to return. The biggest crowd turnout the way people got properly invested in it and getting emotional seeing them leave! It was weird as they were no clear story this time. As we still don't know why there was a knife in a bus and a fork in a car! I'm sure we'll find out soon. Also wish the little boy and girl were together instead of having them separate and they should have brought grandma too!

The Lilliputians puppeteers are amazing at controlling them and how they've made the giants look and behave so realistic with the way the eyes blink and having facial expressions. It's actually quite scary how real they look!

Thank you Royal De Luxe and Jean-Luc Courcoult for bringing the giants to Liverpool it's has been an amazing 3 days and the last 2 time they came too! We've loved having them here following their journey around the city and the story. We hope yous come back again with something new as everyone has embraced and loved it!
