Liverpool's Dream
Saturday 6th October 2018
The giants are back in Liverpool! Royal De Luxe are back with their Giant Spectacular after 4 years. Sadly this is their last time they're visiting us. As it's their last time it's been spread out over 4 days. It started off on Wednesday when a sandal was found in the water at Liverpool dock then on Thursday night when the little boy giant we've not met before appeared in St George's Hall and Xolo the dog was there too! Giant Uncle appeared washed up on New Brighton beach by the lighthouse yesterday.
Not sure on what the story is as an Arriva bus was cut in half with a butter knife outside Lime Street which is opposite the road from St George's Hall also appeared on Thursday. Then yesterday a car with a fork in it appeared outside the bombed out church. The little girl giant clothes - a rain coat, a rain hat, top, pinafore dress and socks appeared on a washing line on Castle Street on my way to work in the morning?
6:50am on Friday morning
Still there when I left work at 4pm yesterday..
I think the uncle was washed up on New Brighton beach as we met him the first time the little girl came and he was in a scuba diving suit so I think he's come back from his travels then washed up! We've not met the little girl yet we're waiting for her appearance since her clothes are here!
I went out this afternoon with my mum & dad at around 2pm as they were waking up from their siesta at 3:30pm. The giant uncle was asleep in Derby Square by the courts.
Not sure why he's sleeping with his feet in buckets!
Little boy and Xolo the dog asleep at Mann Island. It was so annoying people were just stood there and not moving by the barriers so you couldn't get close to get a good photo unlike the giant uncle people were moving once they got a photo. People were passing their phones to people right by the barriers or asking someone close to get a photo of Xolo for them. The woman next to me asked a random man that was stood behind me if he could lift her daughter up so she could see Xolo! That's how much people wanted to see him! It's crazy that Xolo is the favourite but he isn't the biggest!
We moved onto the Strand to Water Street so we could see them when they got up to have a little walk.
Then we went to Castle Street to see the giant uncle wake up and have a walk!
He jumped over the washing line!
Then we went back to the Strand to St George's Dock Gate to see both giants follow each other down to Canning Dock where they're sleeping tonight!
Thirsty giant having a drink
They finally met up tonight to have a sleep then back out in the morning where hopefully the little girl and grandma appears? As we've not seen the little girl yet and she's the main star of the show!
I'm an actual big kid - actually I probably love this and appreciate this more than most kids. I love all stuff like this and think it's amazing for the city. So many people turned out that the Strand was overcapacity and the giants couldn't even get through as there was so many people.
This is the biggest turnout for anything that's ever happened in Liverpool there's loads of photos if you look at the Liverpool Echo Website, Twitter and Facebook it's full of amazing photos. Looking back at my posts I did 4 years ago when they came down there was no where near as many people. You could actually get up close to Xolo, I got some really good photos if you look here! Sadly this year didn't matter where I stood I just wasn't close enough. You definitely need to go out and see them to appreciate them.
Can't wait to go back out tomorrow to see them off!
This was when they came last time.. Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.
