LIMF 2017

Liverpool International Music Festival 2017

LIMF weekend at Sefton Park - Europe's biggest free music festival! I went today the last day it was on, it started on Thursday night at the Palm House. Big names again this year for the line up with Gorgon City, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jax Jones, Becky Hill, So Solid Crew, Naughty Boy, Cast, JP Cooper, Kate Nash & many more!

The weather wasn't great today, I did want to go yesterday & the line up was better - it was still good though. I went to see Becky Hill & JP Cooper before it started raining. Didn't get there till 4 with my mum.

As we were walking to the central stage we caught the end of Jessie Reyez who was really good & definitely someone to look out for in the next year.

Becky Hill

Can't say I was a fan of Becky Hill when she was on the first serious of The Voice but she's actually really good & like the stuff she's come out with. A bit awkward when she asks "Are you alright Liverpool looking a bit stationary & quiet."

They've got a new "VIP area" this year which I think is £50 for a wrist band so you can be closer & you can go to different events that you need to get tickets for.

JP Cooper

JP Cooper was also really good but we left as he was starting his last song as it started to rain & I decided to take my umbrella out my bag as I didn't think it was going to!

Corinne Bailey Rae & Cast were the last 2 acts on closing the festival which we would've stayed for if it didn't rain. LIMF happened to be on the worst weekend this year, every other weekend the weather has been so nice & sunny! It was still good though, hopefully the weather is good next year when it's back with even bigger & better artists!

LIMF 2015

Liverpool International Music Festival 2015

Day 2

Today I went to day 2 of the third annual Liverpool International Music Festival at Sefton Park. I met up with Holly & Joe. I wanted to go last night to see Basement Jaxx but no-one would go with me & we already arranged to go to the pub.

The line up was really good today with Conrad Sewell (the guy who sings in Kygo's song Firestone), Alesha Dixon, Becky Hill, Naughty Boy, Katy B & head liner closing the day Labrinth! All these for free as well in Sefton Park! We only seen Conrad Sewell though & he did 3 songs; firestone then 2 songs I didn't know. I really want to see Naughty Boy & Labrinth but yet again no-one to stay with to see them & I didn't like them enough to stay on my own sadly.

What's the difference between jelly coconuts & normal coconuts??

People were so prepared with full on picnics, plenty of alcohol like actual crates of them, disposable bbq's, someone even had an actual metal bbq, massive 4 men tents, gazebos! We turned up with nothing...

We went into the BBC interactive tent!

Got to sit on a chair from The Voice

Read the news for North West tonight. The guy made me read the one that was just tongue twisters! There was some words I couldn't read as well.

I then presented the North West weather which I wasn't very good at cos there wasn't a script. I needed Kelly to tell me what to say!

We even got a photos with the Dr himself. Joe in this photo ahahahahha

The tent was really fun, you could also present a radio show but I've done enough radio so I thought it'd leave it for the others to have a chance to try it.

Family fun zone area.

I got there around half 2 & left around 5 as Joe gave me a lift home. Holly & Joe got there like an hour before I did. It was a shame the weather wasn't nicer, it was really cloudy & looked like it was going to rain. Luckily it never but it would have been better if it was actually sunny & hot like 2 years ago!

I think LIMF is an amazing idea the fact it's a completely free festival with such big name acts! You would easily have to pay £30+ to see any of these acts. I love how Liverpool can put on events like these, it's the biggest free music event in Europe. If you're thinking of going tomorrow you'll get to see Laura Mvula, Phil Tagget radio 1 DJ doing a set, Rae Morris with Echo and the Bunnymen closing the festival. You can find out more on the LIMF website here. It's meant to be raining tomorrow but it'll still be a really good day so if you have the day off work (which I unfortunately don't, my week off is over) then you should definitely go down & have a look it's completely free & if you drive there's free parking!

Some of the photos were taken on my Nikon 1 J2 camera while others were taken from Holly's iPhone 6.
