What it was like back at the gym...

Outfit head to toe Nike
Top - Cheshire Oaks pre lockdown in March
Pants - Nike online sale start of lockdown
Trainers - Super old Air Zoom Pegasus

After 4 long months I was so happy to be back in the gym yesterday. I was a bit undecided on going as I didn't know whether it was going to be really busy with it being shut for so long as they weren't doing a booking system you could just turn up and if it was full capacity you would have to queue. My gym is big enough for people to social distance so that was why they decided to let people come and go as they pleased.

I got there just before 10am and it was fine - wasn't busy at all and was told everything is the same just wipe before and after and wash you hands. Just the standard things we were doing before it got shut and the norm now. What I was doing when I went to the gym on the cruise. It isn't usually busy of a weekend morning at that time was just the usual faces in.

The gym did look a bit different - there was a screen on reception. You could only enter using 1/3 turnstiles. The middle was closed and the other was for exiting only. Stickers on the floor to social distance if there were people in front of you. Hand gel once you enter as you still have to use the finger print scanner to enter. You could only use every other cardio machine and the cross trainers have been spaced out. The spin bikes have been moved around. The boxing ring and cage were closed and there were a lot of cleaning stations dotted around with bottles of spray and tissue for you to wipe before and after. Hand gel dispensers on the walls and wipes.

The ladies only bit was free to use with a cleaning station and hand gel dispenser on the wall. Could only use 1 of the treadmills, stepper, cross trainer and bike. Only 1 bike has been taken out.

I tried to use as little equipment as possible to save on the wiping.
From what I seen people were wiping before and after themselves so I felt safe and fine in there. I didn't feel worried at all the only thing that did annoy me was...

Selfish people who can't put their weights back!! This is a real problem in my gym with people doing this especially on the squat rack and they've put every weight on the bar so you can't take it off yourself. The worst is when they have been deadlifting and leave it on the floor! If you could put them on your can take them off! I really don't know why people do this and people don't put the dumbbells back in the correct place as labelled so you're looking all over the gym for weights. You can spend a good 5 minutes looking for weights as it's been left in some random place!

Other than that it really hasn't changed. I'm glad to have some normality back and to have a routine again.

5 months

Officially back running, marathon training is back on! I'm so happy to be back running again after 2 and a half months out. It's not been fun knowing Sarah and Jo have been doing runs without me and knowing that the marathon is 5 months away I've been stressing. I should be running miles by now.

I did a 2.7 miles / 4.5 km run yesterday on my own and felt good. Tried my new trainers out and they feel alright. They're heavier than my Nike Pegasus trainers but hopefully I won't get no injuries with these.

Sweaty mess even though it was freezing!

Did a 6.2 mile / 10.2 km run with Jo tonight. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to do such a long run so soon after coming back after my injury but I feel alright and it felt good. I've stretched and foam rolled.. It was a flat run and a bit of a panic run of trying to get some miles in me as it's been so long! I won't be doing more than 10 km till after Christmas, slowly building it back up and aiming for hopefully 20 miles before the race.

Aiming to run about 3 times a week with 2 short and 1 long run - weather depending. (Running in the summer when it was really hot wasn't great but with it being icy cold isn't fun either!) I can't wait to tick off my bucket list and to have that medal around my neck, right now it's a struggle to believe that's going to happen but I can do it!

I realised I never got my rejection pack to say I didn't get a place in the London Marathon. All I got was an email but everyone else got a booklet in the post that came before the email. So if I didn't get that email I would have no idea whether I got a place or not. I think a Half Marathon abroad might be on the bucket list.. But we'll see if I still want to run after this full marathon!

Nike Photosynthesis Pack

The Photosynthesis Pack

Loving this floral photosyntheses pack collection which you can get from the Nike site.

Free 5.0 - £105 (Women's)

I don't understand why the men's LunarGlide is such a weird price like why isn't it a round price & the men & women's are different priced when everything else is the same? Strange.

I do like the LunarGlide or Pegasus. I'm currently looking for a new pair of gym shoes as mine are a year old now & are pretty worn out. I want another pair of free runs & a pair of LunarGlide but they're expensive!
