Day 3 - Marmaris - Turkey
Day 2 we woke up in Marmaris. It looked nice out and was in marina when we looked out the window.
We had breakfast then left the ship to explore round. It was nicer than Alanya.
Don't be deceived by the weather because it didn't last..
We walked into the town which was dead as Turkey season is over.
We trekked 45 minutes up hill to see the amphitheatre and it was pretty disappointing. Not quite sure what I was expecting really but I think for it to be bigger than what it was.
As we walked back it started to rain... So we went back to have lunch. There is a castle but you have to pay to go in it and it looked a bit rubbish so we didn't bother but other than that there wasn't anything else to see. There's a lot of fake shops that sell as "designer" clothes and bags if you want a fake.
Can't remember what this was but it sounded nice on the menu so I got it then refused to eat it as it looked horrible so ordered soup instead.
This was a mushroom, cheese and bacon pasta but it tasted like rubber so wasn't great.
It went sunny after lunch... So got some nice photos from the ship
After lunch we went to sit in one of the bars and did the quiz. We actually came second which was annoying. We got 17/20 and it was to win metal reusable straws! Would have come so handy as every time I ordered a drink in the restaurant they would forget to bring me a straw.
We chilled for a bit then I went to the gym and got back to get ready for the captain's gala. It was a dress up meal that everyone was invited to attend. There was 2 groups and we were in the first group so we went to the show lounge and there was a woman singing the captain came out and did a speech then we went to the restaurant to have dinner.
Lobster tail was the only decent meal I had all week! It was nice and could have had another one.
We shared a table with this old couple who were really nice and knew so much cos they've been on so many cruises and places. After the meal we went and had a drink then it was bed time for day 3.. Heraklion, Crete!
I wore my graduation dress which was only the 3rd time I've worn it
