Thank you Carmex UK!

I would like to say thank you to Carmex UK* as I won these two lovely lip balms from their Facebook Mother's Day Competition! All I was like the posts they said to like & I was 1 of 5 winners chosen! I've never won anything before & didn't think I would have chance at all to win since they had 1000s of likes on the posts! If you have me on Facebook you'll see I always like & share competitions & post photos.. I haven't posted a status in over a year! Now I've finally won something!

I've never bought Carmex but I have used it. I think it's a bit pricey even though I've heard it's good but still don't think it's worth the price tag. So I guess now I can see what the all the fuss is about & I might be convinced! I think the idea of the competition is to give them to my mum as it was a mother's day competition but I think I'm going to keep them for myself.. Oops also don't think my mum would appreciate them that much if she knew I won them & didn't actually pay for them!

Talking of Mother's Day I shall be spending the day working with my mum serving other people's mum's. Not how either of us would want to spend it lets be honest but I guess it's better to be earning the money rather than spending it. I haven't bought my mum anything but I'm planning on giving her money towards a new bag as I know she wants one but I don't want to buy her one cos I know she probably won't like it so giving her money is the easiest solution.

I'm currently still so behind with my uni work & yet to complete a chapter of my dissertation & time is badly running out I want to turn back time but instead it's going forward this weekend which makes things even worse!

Last night we had our finalist night at uni which is meant to be a bit of a party even though we've still got 2 months left of uni & haven't finished any work doesn't make sense at all. Anyway everyone on the course & lecturers was invited but hardly anyone turned up! It was  in the foyer of one of the buildings (not really a party venue at all) just my group of friends 10 of us some others & the student reps, only a couple of lecturers, some office staff so it was a really bad turn out... But that was a good thing for us cos there was more food & drink for us! There was sandwiches (they had smoked salmon!! I was loving it!) Fancy cupcakes, fruit over ripe squishy pears, apples, plums, tangerines, apple, orange, 1 carton of cranberry juice, wine & bottles of Peroni beer. There was a quiz which had a photo round, Liverpool related, Sociology related & news related questions. I am super competitive so wanted to win & my team came 3rd! The lectures won... So really we came 2nd! The lecturers didn't want their prize so it was donated to us, a Lindt gold bunny! Cos there was so much food left they told us to take it home with us, I took to cakes which were squashed under 2 plates, 4 plums & 2 bottles of Peroni. But I left my cakes & plums in Megan's bag when we went to the pub! Some of us went to the pub that's on our uni campus after with 2 of the lecturers & office staff. It was actually I pretty good night I enjoyed myself even though I knew I should have been at home doing work!

* I was in no way sponsored to do this post I've not made it that big yet! I just wanted to say thank you & was shocked that I won something!

Topshop x Adidas Originals

Topshop have teamed up with Adidas Originals which was launched today has created a 20 piece capsule collection, with 'bespoke prints inspired by the London landscape. Offering a fresh colour palette of soft coral, field green and gritty monochrome.'

At first when I heard about them teaming up I was intrigued as to what Topshop could bring to the table for Adidas as the original famous 3 stripes are recognisable by anyone. What could they do to make it different & not just the usual gym, casual wear.

These pieces that have a link & price are the currently on the Topshop website for sale. The Adidas website itself has some of the same pieces but also some that Tospshop don't have. You can buy them from here

I'm a bit unsure whether I like this collection, but I don't think I will be buying anything from it. I do like the black & white tracksuit but I went into JD & the Adidas shop itself which sell the same black & tracksuit without the Topshop bit & is cheaper so I'm probably better going for the original thing rather buying from the collection as I'm not really that into it
I can get the jacket for £52 & the pants for £45 where as the collection would cost me £54 (10% student discount) & the pants would cost the same with student discount.

The model for this collection is called Charlotte Wiggins who is from Tuebrook in Liverpool. She was scouted by Select Models when she was 16 during a school trip to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. She wasn't even meant to be going onto the trip she just wanted to go to get out of class & there were spare tickets. She never intended or wanted to be a model but here she is now modelling for Topshop, she was in the Burberry Campaign with Romeo Beckham & Cara Delevingne. Modelled for Alexanda McQueen, Henry Holland, Matthew Williamson travelling all around the world going to fashion weeks!

She has amazing cheek bones & looks like a typical model unlike Cara who I'm not a fan of & don't really understand how she is a model as I don't think she has the features or is that pretty. The only thing about her is her eyebrows that stand out (which I am jealous of) & her personality but really I think Charlotte is a much better model than her & hope she does go far especially being a scouser!

Congratulations to uncle Ray who is finally married!! Last one out of my dad's 3 brothers to be married! (He's the youngest, my dad is second oldest)

The marriage bit happened in a small room in St George's Hall & then we went to Tai Pan Restaurant to have our meal which consisted of 15 different dishes as you can see with 2 being soups! So stuffed after! The one course we were all waiting for was lobster & we couldn't believe we were getting one each! It was so good! Chinese love their fine food especially meat & seafood as you can see, sadly not for you if you're vegetarian or don't like fish cos you're missing out!

Christine got changed 4 times, the last outfit there isn't a picture as it was what she wore to leave the restaurant to go home in.
I wanted to get a long dress but I kinda regret wearing a long dress as I had to wear it all morning whilst doing my hair & make up otherwise I wouldn't be able to get it on so was having to carry it all around the house which was a pain same with going to the toilet! Not sure whether I want to wear a long dress again! Also I don't really like my dress but it was too late to find another!

The day went so fast I was up at 8:15am for my mum to do my make up & my hair which took a while as we used 2 curlers. Curled held it in while my mum did another bit then swapped. We left the house at 11:15am to go to St George's then left & got to the restaurant at 3. Was home by 8:45pm as everyone had work, school, uni etc but there was no after party sadly but if there was would've been better if it wasn't Sunday.
The weather wasn't great windy & cloudy compared to last Sunday where the sky was blue & the sun was shining like it was properly Spring! But at least it didn't rain so I guess it wasn't all that bad.

If this wedding was in China it would last for days & would be so much bigger with so much more food! If you ever get a chance to go to a Chinese wedding you should jump at the chance to!
