The Killers - Manchester Arena
Monday 13th November 2017
On Monday night I went to see The Killers for the 3rd time (5th seeing Brandon - seen him twice on his own) in Manchester Arena with Kelly from work. I'm still sad I didn't get to see them in my own home city of Liverpool but I was in Malta last Thursday it should've been an original tour date!
As always Brandon was on top form the best front man loving every minute of it. His stage presence has just got better over the years and is ageing so well! This is a collection of some of the 200+ photos I took. I recorded The River Is Wild which I've not seen live as Brandon did say it's one that's not usually on the set list. Runaways and of course Mr Brightside at the end.
I'm still sad it's only half the band no Dave & Mark it's just not the same without them. I miss Dave doing the Mr Brightside riff that just makes my heart skip a beat every time I hear it!
Support act Alex Cameron - wasn't feeling him or his dance moves which were definitely questionable. Me and Kelly were pissing ourselves laughing at him but no-one else seemed to be which we didn't get!
Wonderful Wonderful
Wonderful Wonderful
They played Be Still in tribute to those that were effected by the Ariana Grande gig back in May. I cried which I've surprisingly never done at a gig before. Like I thought I'd cry with happiness at some point but that just touched a nerve. It didn't help the fact Brandon looked like he was going to cry! Also every one put their phone lights on around the arena! Be Still is an emotional song as it is but I don't think I'm going to be able to listen to it now without wanting to cry.

We paid around £60 for our tickets but there was the option to buy VIP which were £120 which gave you early access, a lanyard, a bag, a piece of merch chosen by the band, check in with the host (don't know what that was). It wasn't even worth it as I managed to be 3rd row! Somehow we manged to get in front of the VIP people without even trying. We just gravitated to the barrier cos we didn't push or anything and I don't even remember moving forward but I'm not complaining! The downside to being so close was I wasn't able to get a photo of the stage set up which was so good. I wish I recorded The Man cos the visuals were amazing!
I said this last year when I went to see Bastille - Manchester Arena's organisation/set up has got to be the worst it just doesn't make any sense! The only good thing is you get to queue inside but apart from that if I had the choice I really wouldn't go there! We queued down in Trinity Way by the car park. Had to go through airport style metal detectors and get your bag searched - which I get after what happened. Then you go upstairs and have to queue at a door for your ticket to be scanned. Then you queue again to have you ticket taken off you and got given a rubbish wrist band telling you to look after your belongings. Then we got escorted down the stairs into the arena with a woman shouting at us to slow down and that everyone going down from the different stair cases needed to be in line. Telling the steward at the front to put their arms out even though no-one was trying to push past?? Then we were told not to run along the arena floor. Pointless queuing like 4 times?! At the end of the gig you can have a ticket back but it's not the one you paid for I just don't get it? I'm hoping the VIP people got to keep their actual original ticket they paid £120 for cos I wouldn't be handing that over.
Setlist for the night. They played a strong set with a mixture of songs from all the albums. 6/11 songs from Wonderful Wonderful.
It makes me even more sad knowing they played my second favourite song Shot At The Night in the encore in Liverpool!! The sound quality is also a lot better in The Echo Arena as it It's a smaller more intimate stadium.

Anyone who says The Killers aren't a stadium/arena band and are only good at festivals go and you'll know they are. If you're going to see them on the rest of the tour you're going to love it!! If not try and get tickets but I think it's sold out so if the venues release tickets definitely try and get some. They really are the best band in the world and are so much better live! They're more than just Mr Brightside and Human that everyone knows!
