Paris

Paris day 3, after 2 days of Disney we finally did the touristy stuff and stop one of course was the Eiffel Tower! We got the metro to Trocadero. The station is round the corner so we walked then turned left and the Eiffel Tower was just there. Was a nice reveal I could do for Jo. It wasn't the best day as it was super cloudy and looked like it might rain.

How many photos of the Eiffel Tower can you take and from how many angles...

Trying to get this photo is harder than it looks! The guys that walk around selling random crap are really helpful thorough and tell you how to get it.

Love how Jo has manged to make me look like an actual giant!

You can go into this bit right under the tower without having to pay. You just have to go through security and there are toilets. We got stairs to the 2nd floor and lift to the summit tickets which were €21,50 which was £18.49. We were sweating walking up the stairs but it wasn't that bad as the stairs are wide and metal - also isn't actually that high.

View from the 2nd floor which has a restaurant, shop and toilets. Then the lifts up to the summit.

Paris looks a bit like London with the business sky scrappers and the River Seine.

The summit top of the Eiffel Tower - there's only the bar to get champagne up there.

So many people getting glasses of champagne and was surprised didn't see any proposals!

It start to spit while we were up there.

After we walked to the Arc De Triomphe which is a 1.4 miles away and took about 30 minutes.

Arc De Triomphe

This is the maddest roundabout. We were sat for a bit just watching like what is going on. No way could we could drive this. Cars just going in any direction and a free for all, hope for the best you will be able to get to where you want. Was surprised there wasn't a crash but a lot of beeping and road rage going on.

Didn't realise you had to pay to see the Arc De Triomphe. You have to go down the subway that takes you under to the little island. We didn't bother going so just got some photos then trekked to the Lourve hoping to get there before it shut at 4:30pm. It was a 2 mile walk away and took us about 40 minutes to walk it.

So we got there before 4:30pm and there were no tickets left. They wouldn't let us in as there was no slots online. It shuts at 6pm. Tried to book for the next day but only had 11am or 12:30pm but I'd already planned to go the Palace of Versailles and didn't know what time we would get back so thought we would check back in the morning and see because I wanted to see the Mona Lisa!

So many mad influencers having full on photoshoots and doing tik toks.

Next trek was to Sacre Coeur which was just under 2 miles away and another 40 minute walk but this was up hill. There is a funicular but it's only small

We stopped for a Maccies ice cream en route

Sacre Coeur

So many people outside it. It's free to go on in and there was a mass happening when we walked in.

We needed dinner and we wanted to try frogs legs and snails so Googled the best place and it came up with a place back near the Lourve. So we walked towards there.

When we got to the restaurant it didn't even have either of the things. It was a proper expensive fancy restaurant with tiny plates of stuff. We did sit down then was like don't feel good we're leaving. I manged to get a bit of charge on my phone as it was dying from all the Google map walking.

It was so hard to find somewhere to eat as everywhere we walked past people were just drinking and had happy hour. It was a Wednesday night and was mad busy. We eventually just settled on this restaurant as it was 9pm. They had 2 courses for €17,50

Jo got Steak and Chips

I got Seabream with Tomato Sauce and Califlower

We both got Creme Brulee for dessert - which was cold! Was disappointed. The food was alright the tomato sauce basically just tomato soup but we'd been trekking around that much all day we just needed to eat anything.

We managed to do 41,164 - 18.07 miles because we just walked everywhere pretty much the whole of Paris. Nothing is close by. We were fully done in by the time we got to the hotel.

Next post will be the final post of Paris then I'm off to China!
