Miyagi

Tonight we went to Miyagi's on Allerton Road for Danielle's pre-birthday meal. (Her birthday's tomorrow). A Japanese soul food restaurant.

Group selfie didn't really work

Good selfie Danielle!

No idea what was so funny..

Don't know how to get photos when I'm not on the left!

I got the veggie bento box - Veg yakatori, mixed veg tempura, edamame beans, green tea soba noodle salad, inari-zushi, wasabi & nori rice, homemade pickles £11.95

Danielle got the chicken katsu curry with Mr M's special fried rice £10.50

Kelly got Laksa - Robabta grilled satay chicken, yellow noodles, grilled egg, coconut milk, candied peanuts, roasted pineapple £10.95

Hannah got chicken for the soul ramen £8.95

Mine was a lot bigger than what I was expecting, well the box was big the food wasn't. The rice didn't taste like it was cooked it was really hard but I did eat it all. I wouldn't get the veggie bento box again but it's something I really want to try if I ever get to visit Japan. It's good for people who don't know what they want as you get a bit of everything.

Service was slow even though there was enough staff running around to serve. We waited 45-50 minutes before our food came. When our bill came they added an extra 2 drinks we didn't order onto it. Make sure you always check you bill before you pay!

I'd been wanting to try Miyagi's since they opened their first restaurant on Bold Street in town. Unfortunately I'm disappointed. The food wasn't that bad but it could've been better same with the service.

There seems to be a reoccurring pattern of going to Tesco to pick up bargains as it was down the road. Hannah got a load of reduced fruit & bread, I got 2 boxes of raspberries & poppy seed New York bagels, Kelly got some pan au chocolate & pancakes. Danielle got a box of iced ring doughnuts. People love a bargain people all huddled around the reduced bakery stuff. As Danielle described them as "a pack of vultures."
Deja vu of Hannah's birthday! Might just go to Tesco for my birthday cheaper & more fun!

Eventful evening as always & I even found some Pokemon around Tesco. Yes I've got Pokemon Go who hasn't?? But not having much luck though need to go out more! Was teaching Danielle about it & hopefully convinced her to get it since everyone else has it.

Cheap skate date

My partner in crime Holly is back from Nottingham for good! She's finished her year doing her BPTC so we finally got to catch up. We went to The Bagelry which we've been wanting to try since we found out about it. It's located in a strange location right at the bottom of China Town. It would fit better if it was on Bold Street but it was busier than I thought it would be. I would recommend & would love to go again.

I got the poppy bagel with peanut butter. Holly got the rye bagel with maple & pecan cream cheese. They were nice we really enjoyed them. The peanut butter was a bit salty but the cream cheese was good & I'm not a cheese person. We both really wanted blueberry bagels but they didn't have any in today.

We got vegan coconut macaroons which wasn't quite what we were expecting. As they won't be made with egg & less sugar they weren't that sweet so didn't feel as guilty eating them.

They had a French pastry chef so had all these amazing pastries. They were bringing them out fresh straight out the oven while we were eating our bagels & I really wanted the pan aux raisin but I'm going on holiday on Tuesday so had to give in to the temptation! Looked so good though & would've been so nice warm & fresh!

We then went to the Odeon in Liverpool One to see The Secret Life of Pets. 2 for 1 with Meerkat Movies only £3.75 each which is good for the cinema considering it's so expensive now!

The film really funny not what I was expecting but it was good. It's made by the same people who created the Despicable Me Minions so I knew it was going to be good.

It was nice to have a catch up after not seeing each other since Valentine's Day when I went down to Nottingham for the weekend. It was a cheap date day as the lunch & cinema only came to £9. An adult peak cinema ticket in the Odeon costs more than that!

In my last post I encouraged people to vote Remain in the EU referendum but somehow the UK decided to vote leave which I still can't get over & don't believe happened. I don't understand how stupid & narrow minded people are in this country I live in & call home. I am most definitely not proud to be British right now & really worried. How people can vote for something that was backed by the most hated people in the world surely that was enough to sway people's votes.

Hate crime has gone up by 54% with things being heard like "go home". How can anyone claim they own or belong to any country? Even the Queen has German blood & Prince Philip has Greek blood. No-one has 1 single bloodstream everyone started from somewhere. I might be 100% Chinese since my mum & dad are but I have English & probably something else in it too as we've had English married into our family. It's them useless people on the dole claiming immigrants are stealing jobs yes them immigrants that have a degree, who are paying taxes & contributing to the economy are 100% stealing your job that you can't be bothered looking for or have no qualifications for!

I am so angry that people are so stupid & narrow minded that they just can't justify their arguments! We all have to suffer now because of them. Also the fact the older generation who aren't going to live to see this out have decided our future. I do wish I did more to encourage & educate people but I thought people were clever but clearly I'm living in the wrong country with idiots. If you wish to discuss this or think I'm feel free to contact me because I cannot accept how anyone voted leave!

My surprise 21st party!

So on Monday Kelly text me to say we're going for meal on Friday which will be a surprise. Dress nice & bring heels, me & Danielle will walk to hers & her mum will drop us off. Which I was fine with thought just going for a normal meal with Kelly, Danielle & Hannah.

So I get ready last night change of plan no heels & waited for Danielle to be ready as her mum was giving us a lift to Kelly's. When we got there Danielle walked into the front room while Kelly walked into the kitchen & I asked is Hannah here yet & Kelly said yeah she's in the front room so I walked in... Holly, Gabby, Danielle & Hannah were standing there with party poppers to great me as they had organised a surprise Hawaiian themed party! I had absolutely no idea, I thought we were just going for a meal & didn't think Holly or Gabby would be there. It was the best thing ever!

Kelly & Hannah carved out pineapples to use as cups! Think they were leaking though

It was a Hawaiian/animal themed party as I love lions!

The bestest friends ever!

Lion cake which I thought was a hedgehog...

Got a bit attached to the monkey piñata so I ended up bringing it home after Hannah picked all the good sweets out of it.

Pin the tail on the elephant!

Gabby was the funniest she just had no idea what she was doing! I've got a video of her doing it. This was the first time me & Gabby have played pin the tail on the animal & we both would definitely play it again! I know it's a kids game & the first time we play it is at my 21st birthday party!

Kelly carved out a watermelon to make a fish bowl & filled it up with wayyyy too much Malibu!

Being weirdos with candy floss..

Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - Zara sale Rome

Some photos off Kelly's phone!

Looking super tanned!

Kelly, Danielle & Hannah got me a litre bottle of Malibu & a Simba teddy which Hannah got me from when she went to Disney World Florida! Holly got me a Swatch watch finally in the best colour ever, a dream catcher necklace from Asos & made me a hand made card!

It was the best birthday ever I loved it can't believe how they managed to keep it a secret without slipping up when Kelly nearly did! The effort Kelly put in it as well carving us all individual pineapples (Hannah carved one) carving a giant watermelon. Getting all the food, cutting out flowers to hang & an Aloha sign which I didn't get a photo of! Definitely the best birthday & best friends thanks everyone! :D
