Wagamama

David's home for the weekend so he met up with me and Danielle for dinner last night. We went to Wagamama in Speke.

David got the Vegan Katsu Curry - Seitan coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, covered in an aromatic curry sauce with sticky white rice and a seasoned side salad.

Danielle got the Naked Katsu - Grilled curried chicken on a bed of brown rice, with edamame beans, shredded carrots, dressed mixed leaves and Japanese pickles. Served with a side of katsu curry.

I got the Yaki Udon - Udon noodles, with chicken, prawns, chikuwa, egg, beansprouts, leeks, mushrooms and peppers. Garnished with fried shallots, picked ginger and sesame seeds.

Vegetable gyoza

Mixed Mushroom and Panko Aubergine Hirata Steamed Buns - Two small, fluffy Asian buns stuffed with mixed mushroom and panko aubergine, served with coriander and mayonnaise.

I always seem to get the same thing.. udon noodles as they're the best noodles if you ever order noodles! It was nice apart from the gyoza has coriander in. Everything seems to have coriander in it so I need to remember to say no coriander in anything when I go.

It's always nice to catch up with David as he's not home often so we only really see him like twice a year! In the summer and Christmas unless we go down and visit London which I'm definitely due as it's been over a year now since I went to Croydon.

After we went next door to TGI Friday just to sit down and have a drink. David and Danielle both had a drink I just had a smoothie. David actually only had the one as he was driving - David is a changed man!

After we went to Maccies for an ice cream. I can't say no to an ice cream if everyone else is having one and I've done really good not to have one this week especially with that heatwave !

Pumpkin Picking

Went pumpkin picking with Jo and Sarah today. Obviously after going to the gym this morning. We went to Church View Farm in Lydiate which is like a 25 minute drive.

Jo practising on how to pick a pumpkin up at Morrison's before we went to the farm. This was £8.

I don't think I realised till this year that you could actually go pumpkin picking in the UK. I always though it was an American thing as they love Halloween.

It wasn't quite what I was expecting I thought you had to like pull the pumpkins out yourself from the ground and not actually like placed there. As it's the last weekend till Halloween there was hardly any pumpkins left. The ones that were left were battered and mashed. As they'd ran out there was ones they had to bring in. There were 3 for £10.

Jo dropped Sarah...

The really orange ones weren't grown on the farm...

We all decided to wear Timberland boots...

Who needs a pumpkin this big?!

We had more fun pushing each other round in the wheelbarrow more than actually looking for a pumpkin...

We then went back to Jo's to carve our pumpkins!

I carved my first ever pumpkin!

Jo's

Yep I carved my first ever pumpkin at 25... It was fun can't say it was anything I was missing out on like. I'm not really excited to have to do it again like but I'm glad to say I have carved one and didn't cause any damage or injury!

Had a fun day out! When Rich came back we went to the cinema to see Halloween. I didn't want to go as I hate scary films. I'm such a wimp I hate jumpy stuff like that spent most the film with my hands over my eyes and at one point I did nearly jump on Sarah. The film was rubbish, don't get how people enjoy films like that at all. I don't think I'm sleeping tonight and I've got work in the morning!

Wagamama

Went to Wagamama for dinner tonight with Jo & Rich. Very last minute decision at 5:30pm ringing round everywhere to try and get a table but everywhere was fully booked as it was pride in Liverpool. We wanted to go to Chester but it was Chester races!

We drove down to Allerton Road and Smithdown Road nothing we wanted to try so the last resort was Crust in Woolton Village but the queue was out the door so we ended up going to Wagamama in Speke Retail Park as the very last resort!

Tama Squid

Grilled Duck Donburi

Duck Wrap

Steamed Chicken Gyoza

Yaki Udon with Chicken and Tofu

Teriyaki Salmon Yaki Udon

Pork Bao Buns

We were so hungry that we just ordered pretty much everything! Me and Rich got noodles, Jo got rice. Jo's eyes were watering cos hers was so spicy! The food was good was so full after it but somehow still managed a Maccies ice cream... Me and Jo did run 11.27 km/6.9 miles this morning so it's ok...

Finally ran more than just 8 km since starting back running. We ran from ours down to Calderstones Park, round the park then back. It was a slow but good run. It felt good to get back running long distance! I definitely prefer running on grass than on the road.
We did an 8 km on Wednesday too but I struggled with that when Jo just flew off up hill! Done 15 runs so far and not getting close to that 22 mile mark I want to hit yet but still got a while to go!

It rained a bit on this morning's run luckily well before the thunderstorm.
