Macau

2 days after Gavin flew home on his own me, mum and dad went to Macau for the day. We were going to get the ferry but the 8:30am was fully booked. The next one was at 11:0am but there was limited tickets so we didn't want to risk it and ended up getting a taxi all the way there. The taxi ride was 2 hours 40 mins straight to the Macau border. The border was so busy and people around us were like it's never this busy but it was cos we picked the worst day to go a Saturday when there was the Macau grand prix on and some K pop were playing. It was really annoying trying to queue as well as people were just jumping the queue so was taking even longer.

When you get to the bus terminal there's loads of free shuttle buses that take you to the casinos. Mum asked to go to St Paul's and the woman said you can't get a free one you have to get a paid one so we jumped on a paid bus which seemed like it was just going round in circles and ended up getting off at the Grand Lisboa which we could have got a free shuttle bus for!

It was cold in Shajing and I had pants on and took shorts in my bag and wasn't sure about changing into them. Should have as it was a lot hotter here.

We walked to go find St Paul's Ruins.

We walked down a random street and found this place to have some lunch. Got noodles with fish balls and literally that's all you get no veg or anything else! So plain.

Got a Matcha bubble waffle

Then we walked down Rua de S. Paulo Dasanba Street and there was SO many people. Packed like sardines. The road was mad as well as they had loads of shops that were just giving away so many food samples. Fresh pork jerky, almond biscuits and other biscuits that were so dry and one of the shops had a water fountain which was very much needed. There was that much free samples was full and sick of it by the time we got to the end and found St Paul's!

You can pay to go in but when we got there it had just shut for last entry.

We walked back to the Grand Lisboa

Inside the Grand Lisboa...

We had a look at the casino but you're not allowed to take photos in there.

We then got a paid bus back to the main strip as I wanted to go to the Venetian.

Got off too early so had a bit of a walk...

We then walked through to the Parisian

The Eiffel tower looking more like the Blackpool tower..

We went into Studio City the Marvel themed hotel to get the shuttle bus to Gong Bei Port border gate. When we got there - no bus or trains to get back to Shenzhen. We were basically stranded and it was late. Mum got speaking to a police man who rang his mate who's a taxi driver to drive us all the way back. Ended up getting back at 1:20am.

We didn't have enough time in Macau as we didn't get there till the afternoon so only had a few hours. Also spent way too long in the tourist strip eating the free samples and mum taking ages to buy stuff! I wanted to go to see the strip in the day and not just in the night and didn't even get to see all the casino/hotels. Was a good day out and recommend going. It's the same as Hong Kong they speak Cantonese so we were find with the language situation and because it is very touristy they can also speak English. You can also spend HK dollars there but will ended up giving us Macau own currency back in change which was annoying as you can't spend that anywhere else. Wanted to go to the Macau tower which is out in it's own bit and also has the biggest bungee jump in the world which is on my bucket list. Maybe next time we'll see...
