Flight Nite

Went out with Sarah and Jo last night to Camp and Furnace for their new quiz night Flight Nite where there was 4 holidays up for grabs. One in the UK, a beach holiday, city break and the big one VEGAS!

In flight snacks - sweet popcorn, salted peanuts, Lotus Biscoff biscuits and skittles.

The aim was to win 3/4 but definitely wanted to win Vegas. You played on your own on your own phone rather than in a team. There was 4 rounds with 15 questions in each round that were multiple choice, had a fastest finger round where you could win a prize for the fastest person to answer. At the end of the round the top 3 had to go on stage and complete the challenge and the one who won the challenge won that holiday!

The first holiday was Wales which we didn't want and the fastest finger prize was an inflatable avocado which I really wanted! Second holiday was a city break to Rome which would have been so good! The fastest finger prize was pizza. The third was a beach holiday to Lanzarote - fastest finger was an inflatable plane suit. The last big prize was to Las Vegas!! The fastest finger was a helicopter ride which I think you did here but I'm not sure.
It was hard as each round reset where as if you built up all the answers from each round I definitely would have had a shot. The Vegas round I actually did really well as I only got 1 question wrong which Sarah actually got right but she got too many wrong at the start so wasn't going to win it. I was playing for Jo as she couldn't see her phone or answer the questions. I should have answered two different answers for that one instead of answering the same for the both of us when I wasn't sure of the answer as one of us would have won it!

The girl that ended up wining the Vegas prize was from Portugal as well. Was fuming wanted to win that but I guessed she must have answered all the questions right to get on stage and win it. It was a good night but sad we didn't win anything. Would have been amazing if we won the trip to Vegas.

Sarah drove as she wasn't drinking and we did a Maccies run on the way home. For some reason I lost my voice even though I had 1 drink and didn't think I was shouting but must have as the first question for the Vegas round was along the lines of "Which Las Vegas band had the hit song Mr Brightside" which was obviously The Killers! (It should have been the fastest finger question as I well would have won that!) Then they played Mr Brightside so that could have been why I lost my voice...

My throat didn't hurt I just had no voice.

Sarah's Birthday - The Elephant

It was Sarah's birthday last Saturday so went to The Elephant on Friday night for some food.

Jo got the Slow cooked featherblade of Beef - Red wine, roasted carrot, kale, clotted cream mash

Me and Sarah both got the Sea Bass Nicoise - Warm new potato salad, black olives, fine beans, soft poached egg

There was about 2 beans in it. No salad.

We got them to come serenade Sarah with cake - she hates us

Fun Friday nights which makes a change as I couldn't tell you the last time I went out.
Let's see what plans we have for next week!

Bongo's Bingo

Went to Bongo's Bingo with Sarah and met up with her work mates on Thursday night.
I've been once before last year with Holly for her sister's birthday. I didn't drink last time as I was in work the morning after but I did this time as I booked Friday off. Didn't want to drink before the marathon next week but I had the day off and as Sarah works at Camp and Furnace drinks were half price so I thought I'll have a couple. But I've said it many times before - drinking most definitely is not for me. I've decided I'm just not made for drinking liquids never mind alcohol. But definitely not alcohol. Sarah some how got me to do a shot of tequila and that was it - game over I couldn't drink no more after that.

We went into town and met up with mate from work Ryan and went for a drink at Wetherspoons. Then we walked down to Camp and Furnace as her table was only booked till 7.

Jonny Bongo, Horny Heidi (in red) and Slutty Sue

Plenty more photos like this... What happens when Sarah leaves her phone on the table unattended with me.

Bongo's Bingo is definitely a crazy night out if you want it to be and an experience. It's good the first time you go but since I've been before I don't think it's that good when you go again as the format is exactly the same.

The prizes aren't that great like there wasn't anything I actually wanted to win. There were bottles of alcohol - Apple Sourz, Gin, a Henry Hoover, mobility scooter, space hopper, giant unicorn teddy, Philip Schofield cardboard cutout, Disney Princess doll set and I can't remember what the other prizes were but the last game for a full house was flights, accommodation and tickets to Bongo's Bingo in Ibiza. Definitely the best prize to win.

They have a ticket raffle as well when you get your bingo book where you win actual cash money if you answer the question right on stage. Only 2/4 people won even though the questions weren't even hard and it was multiple choice. I would have got them right!

If you're from Liverpool you would have read all about Bongo's Bingo and Camp and Furnace having a fight over who created it as from August on wards they're not being hosted by Jonny Bongo. The night started off with Jonny Bongo doing a little speech about it and the last question for the raffle to win £1700 was "Who created Bongo's Bingo?" and the options were A) Camp and Furnace B) Pete Price C) Jonny Bongo D) Kev Seed
The answer was C) Jonny Bongo and the girl got it right and won the money. It's one of the weirdest fights that isn't going to end any time soon or nicely.

So glad I booked the day off work yesterday as I was so tired even though I had a proper good lie in. That tequila fully killed me off - never again. Sarah got me another one and I was like nope no chance. When they were doing shots it was making me want to be sick. Considering I had a very unproductive day I did go the gym to sweat out the alcohol and try to keep my fitness up for the marathon next week. It's officially 8 days. Last run tomorrow and that's it I should be ready (?) for the big race!

Christmas Party

Had my work Christmas night out last night at The Liner Hotel in town next to Lime Street Station. I booked the day off work to have a lie in and to get my hair and make up done. My make up was booked in at 12 at Model Standards which is in Belle Vale. It was done by a girl called Emma who was really nice. She was asking me all questions about how I wanted my hair but I had no idea as I never wear make up. I just told her I wanted it too look natural and glowy.

My cousin Tracy did my lashes for me on Monday night. I've got individual lashes on. She's currently got an offer on if you get them done in December it's £25 for a full set!

Loved my make up it didn't look too much and didn't feel heavy even after wearing it for over 12 hours cos usually I want to go home to wash it all off but I was fine even when I got home.

After getting my make up done I was booked in for my hair at 1:45 in the same place with a girl called Sophie.

I asked for a halo brad and it to be wavy wanded. Loved my hair too wish I could do a halo braid in my own hair! Both cost me £25 each but I had to pay a £10 deposit when I booked my make up in. It was so much effort trying to book them to be close together don't know how girls do it every time they go out! Thought I'd make an effort for a change not sure I'll be doing all this again until next Christmas !

So my hair and make up was done by 2:15 so I just went home and got some stuff sorted as I booked the taxi for 5:45 from mine.

Heels - Miss Selfridge

I only got my dress last week online as I just couldn't find anything to wear when I went shopping in town. Danielle nearly had to lend me something but Zara saved the day. Love this dress even though it wasn't really giving me much space to eat.

Picked up Laura and Melissa and we met up with everyone else at the North Weston Wetherspoons next to Lime Street Station. We then walked over to The Liner Hotel for our meal at 7.

Joe and my work dad Dave!

Bruschetta

Turkey roast

Lemon Tart

Joe's food

Duck pate

Gammon

Strawberry cheesecake

Work mum Julie, Melissa, Caitlin, Dave and Joe!

Jo Shaw!

My old team leader Laura

Hannah had her old work part there too!

It was a nice place but the food was not worth £40. We had to pay another £40 for the drinks package to get unlimited drinks. I could never drink that much alcohol so I never got it but 2 people didn't turn up so I ended up taking their wrist band.It was a good night it got weird later on though as Panorama kitchens were having their Christmas party too and some random guy started mc'ing and taking over the DJ. We left after 12am to go to Mathew Street. I stayed out until Sarah finished work to get me at 2am.

It's a nice venue just the food isn't worth it and it said we were suppose to get midnight snacks of fish and chips that didn't happen. You basically sit in a giant room with a load of other people having their Christmas parties! I had a good time and it makes a change to be all done up and not being in gym clothes!
