Heraklion, Crete

On Monday we decided we'd venture out of the resort & go shopping in the city as there's all high street shops there & we needed to buy some souvenirs. We spoke to one of the Thompson reps who told us the bus comes every hour at 5 past. Before we left we checked with reception to see if they had a timetable of the bus we had to get. The woman told us it comes every half an hour at quarter to & quarter past. So we were a little confused on who to believe...

Selfie stick photos walking up to the bus stop. Taken using Sindy's Samsung Galaxy S4 phone.

We think we missed the bus as we were walking. Buses don't even look like buses they're coaches! We waited over an hour & there wasn't a bus so Sindy rang the hotel & they told us it was Easter Monday so buses are less frequent but we asked the woman before we left the hotel & she didn't even tell us this! So annoying that we wasted an hour rushed lunch to get to the bus stop to have to walk back. We did end up going the day after but still waited over half an hour for the bus/coach to turn up. Luckily the bus had WiFi & it was a short drive there not far from the airport.

Definitely not a bus

The Ottoman Vezir Mosque

Sindy got a frozen yogurt. They sell it by weight like in America but their flavours of yogurt weren't great, they had original which I don't like, banana, hazelnut praline & strawberry.

Lion Square

The bus was 2,40€ each way & was the last stop. The shops were really spread out all over the place. We went to Zara which was cheaper than England with the prices being in €s but there wasn't anything I liked. Sindy & Jess both bought the same bikini top. Sindy also bought some olive oil & spices from the market. We didn't have much time before we had to get the bus back as it was starting to get cold & we didn't bring jackets.

All photos were taken using my Nikon 1 J2.

I'd like to revisit Crete at some point to do the historical ruins, this holiday was definitely a chilled, relaxing not spending much money one!

This day also had the best quotes of the holiday thanks to Jess... "Mmm bread & toast. Flip flops are harder to walk in cos you have to flip it."
