Alpaca Walking

This morning I went alpaca walking with Holly which she got me for my birthday. It was at Yew Tree Farm in Halewood, something I've been wanting to do for years. I'd been to the farm a few years ago for breakfast with now the cafe is only open in the weekdays which doesn't really make any sense. They now do alpaca walking and events there like weddings.

We got there for 10:15am and 2 other groups of people turned up too. We weren't sure where to go and couldn't see the alpacas but then we eventually spotted them. There was 3 other groups and us doing the walk at 10:30am.

We got some health and safety and information about them. They are friendly but don't like when you go in their space so if you go up close or turn your back on them they will walk away from you.

They're funny as they all have names and their own personality.

Holly the alpaca whisperer who are super greedy after the treats!

We got paired up with them - Holly's was called Alesha and we got to take them around the field

Mine was called May with her bucked bottom teeth. Mine and Holly's were quite anxious - Holly's would get worried if all the others were getting off and run off to join then. Mine kept wanting to go the front. Alesha liked being stroked on her neck but Holly's Alesha didn't.

Did get a bit dirty so defo go in old clothes you're not bothered about getting muddy and wear wellies. We were so lucky with the weather today otherwise I would have hated if it rained

It finished at12pm so took 1 hour 30 mins as we did stop for a bit for photos and the alpacas spotted a puddle that they wanted to stand in and use as a toilet! It was so good and the woman (forgot her name) was really good I'd recommend but definitely try and book a day when it's not raining.

After we went for lunch on Nourish on the Brow which is somewhere we've been wanting to try for a while and is only open Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 4pm.

I got Pesto Pasta - Warm pasta with sun-dried tomato pesto & mozzarella pearls served with toasted Cesar sourdough - £9.75

It was nice but quite greasy!

Holly got HTL Bagel - Halloumi, lettuce, tomato with mayonnaise served with salad & coleslaw - £8.25
Side of Avocado - £1.60

We were hopping to have brunch but the breakfast finished at 11:45am and we didn't get there till after 12pm. It's nice in there bigger than I thought and the food is cooked out in the open so we ended up stinking of food after.

 Thanks for today Holly!

I think might finally be the end of the birthday month but still plenty of birthday posts to go...
