Christmas 2021

Christmas at the Johnson's again as due to covid. Second Christmas in a row not being able to spend it at the Wing's. I did go and see my grandma with my dad in the morning and my uncle Mike, Auntie Sou-Mei and Brandon turned up. Didn't stay long as I needed to get back to get ready to go to Tracy's. I went to Tracy's with her mum and dad for 3pm.

Tracy took a different approach this year and decided to force feed us and put the food on our plate for us. I did manage to eat it all but I hate wasting food so will eat everything that is given to me. We had beef, gammon, turkey, pigs in blanket, stuffing balls, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli and sprouts. Food was really good thanks Tracy and Chris even though before we even got plated they prewarned the turkey was dry. It was better than what I had at The Florist the other night.

Amelie is old enough to eat this year and was loving it. Tracy was feeding her too slow though and was crying for more. She wasn't sure with sprouts though out of all the food.

Annual cousin Christmas photo now featuring Amelie!

Tracy bought a Chinese fruit cream cake from Bonbon Bakery which was really nice. We also had c
rème brûlée and I ate so much chocolate the only day in the year I have chocolate really.

We played the logo game and were done in with all the food we ate. Watched Amelie play with her new toys and when she got put to bed we watched on some and went to start Don't Look Up on Netflix but I ended up going home with Tracy's mum and dad so didn't end up watching it.

Up and at the gym this morning to try and burn off all the food that was eaten yesterday. Surprised the gym was open but I'm not complaining. It was quiet when I got there at 10am with familiar faces then started to get busier. For lunch today at home my dad made a roast with poussin. I am all roasted out for a good while now. Gym workouts for the foreseeable will be burning all the Christmas food!

Hope you all had a good Christmas!

Boxing Day

Everton v Burnley
Thursday 26th December 2019

I got to go to the Burnley game on Boxing day with my Uncle Mike and Brandon as my Uncle Ray couldn't go. It's been a while since I've been to see Everton. I've still yet to see them lose so was hoping my luck was still going strong and with Carlo Ancelotti's first game as manager it was going to be a good game!

I only got asked on Christmas day if I wanted to go to the match and already said I was going to bake scones to take to Tracy's and make waffle mix as she has a waffle iron. I had to get up early to make sure they were all done before going to the match. I got picked up at 1pm as kick off was at 3pm.

The weather wasn't great it was that horrible drizzle where you just get wet. Because my little cousin Brandon has a season ticket my Uncle Ray and Mike have moved to sit in the family enclosure. They used to sit in the Lower Gwladys Street end but there's just too much swearing there. These seats are good dead close can see all the players. You just can't see the right corner flag as we were sat closer to the left side. Less shelter being low down and we did pretty wet.

At the start the atmosphere was a bit quiet as people weren't sure of the new manager but it did pick up. My luck continued as we won 1-0! Clearly I need to get a season ticket because if they win or draw every time I go to see them could actually win the league... Don't think I could do that every week though if it's raining. It's alright in the summer when it's dry but sitting in the cold and rain definitely isn't for me! I do love going to the match but being wet is a no.

Everton has just beat Newcastle 2-1! Good start for Ancelotti, just need to keep this up for the rest of the season.

After the match we went to Tracy's as she was doing a gathering at hers.

There was a lot more food than this but was too busy eating it to take a photo of it!

So annoyed this was the first batch which also happened to be the biggest but was over baked!

The next two turned out so much better. We had so much food that we didn't even end up making waffles so I'm going back to Tracy's on Saturday to make them as I left the mix in hers.

I have a new favourite board game now - The Logo Board Game. Me and Chris were against Tracy, Laura and Brandon and we smashed them. But then wasn't as good with Articulate. Shouldn't have stayed with Chris for that...

Christmas 2018

Had such a busy week - Christmas Eve was at Jo and Rich's then Christmas night I was at nanny Wing's, Boxing Day I went to Manchester to my cousin Sindy's and on the 27th I was at my other cousin Tracy's for her house warming. Last night was the only night I was actually at home eating normal food. My mum and dad have been away for Christmas as well they've just got back from a Mediterranean cruise so it was nice to have some normal home cooked food last night and to go back to the gym as I hadn't been since last Sunday morning!

We had a turkey roast for our Christmas dinner at 6pm. There was 14 of us - missing my mum and dad, Gary, Kirsty and their 2 boys Lucas and Oliver. Should be a full Wing house New Years Day though.

Boxing Day

Boxing day I drove down to Manchester with Lisa to Sindy's.

Rufus

We had a quite posh grown up dinner party at Sindy's. Sindy and Jess made their own sausage rolls and chilli con carne then loads of little bits. Sindy's parents came, older brother Thomas and his little boy Alex. Jess' boyfriend James stayed for a bit before having to leave to get the bus back to London then Sindy's boyfriend James (yep confusing both their boyfriend's are called James!) came back from the Liverpool match.

Don't always see the Cheung's only ever see Jess and Thomas like once a year at Christmas which is a shame we should really catch up more but we're all super busy and Jess lives in London so it's hard to get us all together. But we should definitely have a gathering again at Easter or the summer!

Had well more food than this

Tracy's finally moved into her house with Chris after buying it 2 years ago! She had a house warming with all the Wing's. Chris' mum and 2 sisters came too. Gavin was playing monopoly so we didn't end up getting home till 12:30am. I was knackered I got back late from Sindy's the night before then was in work and had work the next day. I've been doing short days but I'm like a child I need to be in bed by like 10pm can't hack late nights!

Tracy hasn't got doors in her house yet so I had a really good idea to make a sign with her light box. When someone was in the toilet they would turn the light on that was at the bottom of the stairs to let people know that someone was in it so you wouldn't walk in on them! I didn't think it was going to work really but everyone got onto it and it worked perfectly. She's debating on saving money on doors and just spend it on batteries for the light box instead!

Hope you had a good Christmas! I'm so done with eating now. I was just eating because everyone else was, wasn't hungry or got to the point of being full. Can't wait to get back into a proper routine and go back to the gym. Went on a 5k last night with Jo and was in the gym this morning. Next week the gym will probably be busy with all the "new year new me" people. Let's see how long they last this time!

Boxing Day 2017

Boxing day at my cousin Sindy's! I drove down to Manchester with Lisa. We made a beef roast with all the trimmings.

We made broccoli and cauliflower cheese, roasted parsnips, glazed carrots - Heston recipe, Heston potatoes Boulangére made our own Yorkshire puddings. All recipes were from online. It was like a little assembly line everyone had a job. Wearing a white shirt wasn't the best idea but I didn't know we were cooking and apparently Sindy doesn't own aprons??

It was so good but by the time the food was ready I wasn't even hungry as I pretty much ate a whole bag of of propercorn sweet and salty to myself. Christmas has clearly gone to my head who is this??

Little Rufus watching us cook.

It was nice to catch up as I haven't seen Lisa or Jess since China last year! Jess lives in London but Lisa lives in Liverpool but we just don't really catch up. Sindy's mum, dad, brother Thomas, girlfriend and nephew Alex and Jess' boyfriend James were all down. We played a round of Articulate after dinner which is actually my new favourite game. It was so good but hard. Sindy was rubbish on the people round she didn't know anyone! We definitely need to make this a tradition and do it again next year!

I had to leave early as I was back in work today :(
Don't even know why work was open I just didn't want to do any work! But was looking forward to being back in the gym. Did a 6km run in 39 minutes around Woolton then trained chest with Jo and Rich. 12 week countdown to the half marathon!
