17 Miles

17 miles this morning and it was a killer! It was the furthest I got to last year before injury got the better of me and the furthest Jo did before she did the full marathon.

I went out last minute to meet Kelly and Josh in Woolton Village as she was home for the weekend. Was suppose to be going to brunch this morning but I had to run so felt like I had to see her last night even though I was in bed when she messaged me to meet her. Her brother John and his mates were out too. I wasn't drinking as I drove up and I'm not drinking until after the marathon.

It was nice to have a catch up, I haven't seen Kelly since Christmas and not seen Josh since last year I think when I was down in London staying with them.

I wasn't actually tired this morning but did wake up like I can't be bothered running 17 miles which wasn't the best attitude to have when I knew it was going to be hard.

It started off alright and we decided we were going to run up to the point of 8.5 miles then turn back around as we couldn't plan a route which was a bit annoying as it meant we were running the exact same route twice. I'd rather go round in a loop and not have to go back on myself. It was also really annoying running past my house on the way back knowing I wasn't finishing as we were meeting Jonny at the gym as he was running with us but only ended up running 20 minutes and wasn't running the full distance so we should have just left him!

At no point did I feel tired it was just my legs on the last I'd say 4/5 miles when they started to get tired and didn't want to work for me. I really felt it on the last mile as my calves were so tight. It was sunny today which made it a bit harder with the sun on you but it was so much nicer running along the prom without being battered by 40+ mph winds! Dreading 18 miles next week already, you'd think building it up gradually 1 mile a week wouldn't be too bad but you really do feel it.

Did a short mid week run with Angie.

I might not have been tired earlier but it has definitely caught up with me now and I am so ready for bed ! Running is hard! :(

Ladies Night

Went out with some of the gym crew last night for ladies night - disco divas village disco at The Elephant. They were also doing 25% off food and drink.

Dress - Zara
Boots - Zara

Rare sight seeing me wearing anything other than gym clothes!

Jo, Annie, Andrea & Sarah
It did start off as ladies night as Jonny was late & Lewis wasn't coming till after we ate!

On the cocktails! Watermelon cooler

Sarah, Andrea & Annie got the hummus

Sarah and Andrea shared the Spiced Sesame Chicken -  fresh coriander, spicy gochujang sauce, sesame seeds. It was nice, tasted like sesame prawn toast but was a bit spicy for me and I don't like coriander.

Jo got the steak and chips but it was over done so sent it back and they brought her out another one.

I got the pesto baked cod - walnut pesto crust, parmentier potatoes, winter tossed winter greens, lemon butter sauce.

It was nice but really small considering it was £14!

Jonny got the lemon and herb chicken - pan roasted Cheshire chicken breast, roasted haricot beans, spinach, lemon, fresh herbs

Me and Jonny shared the plum and apple crumble - which was really nice so was the custard! Ended up asking for more custard just so I could eat it on its own.

Lewis got the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake

Jo got 3 scoops of ice cream - vanilla, raspberry ripple and unicorn. The unicorn tasted like an ice cream with the wafer cone all in one. It was weird but really nice!

Jo made the mistake of leaving her phone on the table while she went to the toilet.. So of course me & Jonny went wild. There was way more photos than this but these were the better ones!

After food we went down to join the disco.

We left and went next door to the Liberty Tavern. I took a star balloon from The Elephant and people actually thought it was my birthday...

It was a fun night! Got in around half 12 then was back in the gym at half 9 training arms with Jonny! Still sadly unable to run which is killing me. 7 weeks tomorrow till race day!!

Liberty Tavern

I went to the Liberty Tavern tonight for Suzanne's leaving meal. She left before Christmas but people weren't free before then so we ended up doing it tonight. We went to the Liberty Tavern which is only up the road from mine next to the Elephant pub. We were meant to be going to the Elephant but they wouldn't let us book a table then wouldn't let a group of 9 in. I met up with them at half 7 as I wasn't eating, only to show my face & have a drink. I only ended up having an orange juice as I was driving. (Yes it's only a 10/15 min walk but I decided to drive. This is what happens when you have the luxury of a car, get super lazy).

Considering it's only up the road from mine this is the first time I've been, I did used to be called the Bubble & never went to it then. It's expensive for food & drink which is probably why I've never been but I do want to try the £50 steak & lobster to share.

Suzanne, Laura & Danielle

Best of a bunch of photos, as Danielle really isn't a good photographer at all & she knows it. (Hi Danielle if you're reading this, I hope you are.)

I was nice to catch up whilst not in work. As we don't really get the chance to talk to each other & our shifts clash.
