Me & Kelly decided to walk to Sefton Park, which took around 45 - an hour (I'm not sure we forget to check the time when we left Kelly's) & try out the Liverpool CityBike hire. It's like the one they have in London which started in May this year. You register online & say how long you want to rent the bike for with different tariffs, day, week & annual memberships. You create an account where you then get given a membership number & pin. There are bike stations dotted around the city with a machine for you to enter your membership number & pin then you select a bike & off you go for the time you you chose to hire it.
Kelly created an account, when we got to the park we picked up our bikes to hire for an hour & cycled around.

We just cycled around the whole park which was really fun! I'd never been round the whole park & haven't been since last year when I went to LIMF festival but didn't really explore just stayed by the stage.
Not too sure what this, the writing on the on it made no sense whatsoever
That's cupid on the top!
The palm house! Which is a Victorian glasshouse that has plants from around the world. It's really nice inside I had my year 11 prom in there.
Sefton Park is such a lovely park with a lake in the middle of it that has ducks, & swans. It has a kids play area, tennis courts, bowls, fountains, ice cream parlours. It's really nice if I lived closer I would probably go every with Frodo & go for a run but it's not close to my house since it takes so long to walk & like 15 minutes in the car.
We road down to Lark Lane which is famous for all the different cafes, pubs & restaurants which is a favourite for students as a cheaper alternative to town but I've never actually been her before! We also found out that city bikes are not for the pavement at all & not good for riding up hill either & definitely are for the road in the city! We were too scared to ride on the road though.
I think this bike hire scheme is a really good idea especially to help with pollution & traffic within cities. It's good for people who may not be able to afford a bike or don't have somewhere to put it if they lived in like a flat or apartment. It's also good for people who park & then get the train into town instead of getting the train they could ride a bike which would work out much cheaper for them & the bikes have a lock attached to it so you can lock it up securely at your work. However to make it a success that they want they really need to sort out the roads & make them safer for cyclists. We actually have 4 bikes in our house & have a city bike but I'm too scared to ride on the road of getting ran over. If they made the cycle lanes wider & drivers were more cautious I'm sure more people would take up cycling.
It was a nice day not too hot with a cool breeze. Bit of a sweaty back with a backpack but nothing too horrible like the past couple of days. It took us around the same time to walk back to Kelly's but we decided to go a different way. It was a really nice I enjoyed it we will definitely be doing it again!
